Badges/Emotes

How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

If you need help:
This forum is for ideas only. If you need help, please check out our help portal for tons of articles that may answer your questions. If you still need help, you can reach out to our support team in the help portal as well!

Appeals or commentary on suspension decisions, support requests, suggestions disparaging others, and non-constructive feedback will be closed without comment.

  1. There are a lot of limited-time emotes that you can obtain from Hype Trains and other events. These are put into categories in my emote library but the categories don't have any rhyme or reason particularly, for example some are categorised as "Stream with Pride" but some of the pride emotes are under "TwitchHypeTrain", I wish for a feature to be able to sort my emotes out a bit better.

  2. The emotes panel should let streamers organize them all in the order they think it is the best. Currently even though we can put them in a certain order, we don't have full access to it because they are all separated in categories, such as Animated emotes, Follower emotes, Tier 1 emotes. Streamers should have full power to organize all emotes mixing them.

  3. Instead of having most used emotes at the top - just let us pin our top favorite 15-20 emotes. My "most used" are not necessarily my favorites. This would make using my favorite emotes so much easier - especially on mobile.

  4. Raids right now send all viewers to a single streamer. Raids are supposed to be a way of "spreading the love", but all they seem to do is keep big streamers big, and small streamers small.

A way to change this would be to introduce an idea of a "shotgun raid" where the viewers will be spread out across multiple different streamers.

The streamer who was about to initiate the raid could select "random" "random in category" or "list" and then be able to select a list of other streamers, and then when the raid is initiated, viewers will be…

  5. Is there anyway that the streamers in our streamer groups can have a symbol beside their names when they enter our chat?
Just like vip or sub badges, Streamers that are apart of our stream groups would have their own symbol in our chat as well.

  6. A lot of people on this website partake in supporting their favorite streamers in a big way financially. Twitch has the 5k sub badge and bit badges up to 5M but are only specific to that stream, obviously. But things do tend to happen, streamers go on breaks, streamers retire, friendship fallouts, streamers clicking on things by accident on their computer that puts their career in jeopardy or ends it, plenty of other scenarios, and the person is left with really nothing to show for the immense support they've given to said streamer, which in turn goes toward supporting the…

  7. Think the Pokemon Gym Badge Case, where one can view all badges their account has collected across various twitch Channels, various tiers of X-Month Subscriber badges, twitch con badges, etc. Just a neat feature I'd like to see implemented

  9. Give us control to disable ones we dont want. Fumbling thru them is frustrating and i try to keep my list to a minimum
Ones earned for specific donos that streamers often change for example
Twitch is a TV program to me I don't just follow one streamer and as I bounce around alot if someone caught my urge to donate then I'm happy to do so...but the earned emote - another example of why I'm here

  10. I propose renaming the 'Founder' badge to something like 'Early' or 'First'. The term 'Founder' misrepresents their identity, as they contributed early money, but didn't "create" the streamer.

  11. I'd love a streamer-activated quick emote panel. Users can click a small panel above the chat to send emotes, featuring the 10 latest used emotes. Inspired by cough, but I often tab out of games just to click a quick emote, while less frequently without the quick emote menu panel.

  12. I understand that letters can be used to spell bad things. In that case I dont have much to suggest for addition. And of course it isnt very cool to add a feature that just gives mods more work. Myself and many would agree that at the least, letters like W & L would be a fun addition. I of course feel the opposite about adding all sorts of letters and especially not common spelling ones, such as vowels.

  14. After receiving penatlies for suspensions, 2 years we have to wait until we get follower emote priveleges and auto upload of emotes back. Honestly 2 years is a VERY long time. Especially when Suspensions and bans are often grey areas and not against TOS

  15. ClipChamp was an exclusive title/badge given to the creator of a channels top clip each month. It was a great feature, encouraging the community to clip fantastic moments in hopes that they'd get the badge. It was a bit buggy at the time, but we've come a long way since then!

With clips being pushed more and "Featured Clips" being implemented, I think it would be great to bring back this feature. This time, with more support!

People love chat badges and they love emotes too, perhaps the return of ClipChamp could work a bit like hype trains? Little 🎬…

  16. The option to have a tab in the emote menu where the user can freely set their preferred emotes, as well as the option to hide sub/follower/bit emotes that the user has no intention of ever using for a much more convenient time on the browser and mobile app.

  19. Give the "Listening only" & "Watching without audio" badges their own slot, so the people who actually need them can still display a vanity badge.

  20. Promote events better, especially when you have a badge. Those who follow the Twitch blog or stay on the site never find out about the global badges. The most recent example is the r/place 2023 badge. There is nothing on the blog and no notification on the Twitch website itself. Only twitter users caught it. Following the Twitch blog to not get notified is a bit pointless. Sad about Twitch's lack of communication with those who actually spend the day on the site and without a badge. It could have a menu of badges with the list of the most…
