Why aren't we able to fully customize our channels? Animated banners, vids, signs, importable handdrawn overlays, animated borders or side panels with gifs and clips, live feeds of your favorite streamers, the ability to pick and chose ad's that you prefer or products you endorse, and official sponsorship badge area, more rewards, more laxed rules regarding qualifications for partner/affiliate.
Maybe even a lil love for those of us that stream 40-60-80 hours week, more access to content or creator contracts or access to developer/publisher sponsorship / more alpha's and beta give aways, total control over everything and where it gets place, how big its box is, what it looks like, color scheme, ett....access to incentivized endorsements regardless standing.

While I agree that it'd be a nice feature to further a broadcasters image onto their page, I feel a small condition(I'd hate to use the term restriction) should be enabled before allowing its use.
Maybe limit the use to affiliates and partners only? I say this to avoid abuse of its feature. I think the panels are something of a tool that further enhances the broadcaster, I think having it open to everyone could open up misuses (or something of the sorts).
As with each feature, it has potential to be abused, this is why I suggested the above, but I feel even without that particular condition, the use of animated gif's, mp4's, webm's, etc would give the broadcaster more power to excel their own unique image and content.

It would definitely be great for a broadcaster to make animated panels without having to develop a full on extension to do so.

I would love to see animated GIF support for my stream panels or even larger filesizes permitted. Currently there is a 1 megabyte limit on file size.
Since twitch loads the video stream first and doesn't load the panels until the user attempts to scroll down, the increased file size allowance would not impact the load time of a broadcast.
Animated GIF, MP4 or MOV support would greatly increase the control and polish available to broadcasters

With the addition of custom Cheermotes it would be great to be able to add an info panel that allowed a gif image for broadcasters to show off the fully animated versions available on their channel. Most of the previews of the Cheermotes are hidden to viewers without a large amount of Bits, so an info panel to show these off would benefit the system a lot.
This would also allow emote artists to show off a selection of their animated Cheermotes, and let broadcasters looking for an artist see their portfolio directly from their channel.
The number of animated panels could even be limited, down to a single panel if necessary, so broadcasters consider its use and channels don't become just a page of streaming adverts

Animated Panels the ability to use Animated gif, or video files in my panel images, so that i could and others could create panels that move and change, this could also eliminate the need to have 6-10+ panels with one single Gif image that changes every so often conveying your sponsors, affliates or about you section you can fit more into a single spot,
