Ukraine has a ~40M population, of which, according to the last census, 67,5% consider Ukrainian their mother tongue.

Ukraine has a vibrant gaming community. Ukrainian eSports teams (go NaVi!) are some of the most successful and competitive in the world.

Valve added Ukrainian language option to Steam in 2013 and since then the number of Ukrainian Steam players (and Steam games that have a Ukrainian localization) has been steadily increasing. According to SteamSpy, as of June 2016 there were 3.7M Ukrainian players in Steam. (source: http://steamspy.com/country/UA )

Given the above mentioned arguments, we, the Ukrainian gaming community, ask of you Twitch & Amazon to add Ukrainian as one of the official languages in Twitch and allow Ukrainian language to be an official broadcasting language. We are ready to even translate everything ourselves (via Crowdin or other similar system) provided you give us such an option.

Thank you for raising this issue and sharing your feedback. We are in the process of rolling out a Beta version of Ukrainian localization across Twitch. Users who have their mobile devices set to Ukrainian should automatically see Twitch in Ukrainian once our roll out is 100% complete, and web users with their system language set to Ukrainian will also be able to experience our Beta version. We want to make the Twitch service accessible to as many people as possible, and localization is a part of that.

Once the rollout is finished, we will mark this issue as "Completed." Thank you.

    We kindly request that you add Ukrainian language localization to the Twitch platform. Official data shows that over 30 million people worldwide speak Ukrainian, and the gaming and streaming community in Ukraine is growing rapidly. Many users prefer content in their native language, and offering Ukrainian would make Twitch more accessible, increase user engagement, and strengthen audience loyalty.

    Other platforms that have already implemented Ukrainian localization have seen positive results in user growth. Incorporating Ukrainian would not only serve a significant audience but also enhance Twitch’s reputation as a truly global and inclusive platform.

    Додайте українську локалізацію на ваш сайт. Твіч має велику аудиторію в Україні, проте може мати ще більше, якщо додасть українську локалізацію, бо частина людей просто не знає англійську, а від російської українці масово відмовляються. Дайте можливість людям користуватись сайтом їх рідною мовою.

    Add Ukrainian to your site! Twitch has a large amount of viewers from Ukraine, but it can have even larger amount with Ukrainian localization. Large part of Ukrainians just don't know English, but also stops using russian, so they just don't have any options but to go watch streams on youtube. Please, let us - Ukrainians, use your site with our language.
