  2. Why were bits removed from poll usage?!?

I use polls for viewer watch party. The polls are for what genre and movies will be played at the time of the watch party. I allow extra votes to be cast using bits. I choose bits because it deters trolling. I choose 10 bits per upvote but depending on the other types of polls the amount can go up or down.

I can not use channel points because some of my viewers have over 300k and could potentially spam. Voting for something that is not necessarily an mutually beneficial outcome for all…

  3. As in other applications and games, because not deploying a global ranking system on the platform, that way the platform will profit, there will be an award for the top ranks and the platform can bring more users and streamers to the platform, the rank will encourage people to donate and if the prizes are good, it will be even better.

  4. In most channels that have cheering, I sometimes see people spamming with only 1 bit. I find it pretty annoying, and I'm sure people do as well, especially when the chat is in sub mode.

  5. Partner have the possibility to add a cheer emote which users can use to cheer. It would be great if that would also be possible for affiliates. Like this viewers can donate bits more personal to the channel as with the default ones.
So partners have still a difference to affiliates at this point they could get i.e. a second or maybe also third custom cheermote slot.

  6. I just purchased 1500 bits ($15 to streamer) for $19.95 -- a $4.95 markup. This made me think about the amount of bit donations vs. PayPal donations I've seen over the years, and the fees associated with PayPal are much more attractive.

Bits however are very interactive and entertaining. The novelty of getting a bit badge and having your cheer posted at the top of the chat is likely a reason why people choose to pay the premium. That being said, for every person that buys bits, the other person donates on PayPal because its cheaper. If Twitch wants to…

  8. I would like to suggest the implementation of minimum requirements for first-time bit donations in a channel. Currently, there is an issue where newly created accounts can use "fake bits" purchased with stolen credit cards or bins. This situation negatively affects both streamers and the community at large. Therefore, I propose the introduction of an additional security measure to prevent these fraudulent transactions.

My proposal consists of establishing minimum requirements for first-time bit donations in a channel, similar to the existing requirements for first-time chatting. These requirements could include:

Email and Phone Verification: Similar to the verification required for first-time…

  10. To give the streamers more personalization, incorporating functionality to allow a streamer to add custom cheermotes in the same fashion they are able to for channel emotes and bit badges would be beneficial to the growth of a channel.

This would not be a change in the functionality of bit cheering, but rather a change in the cosmetics.

    Thank you for your consideration.

    • Custom emotes on the hype train.
Explanation: The rewards for participating in the hype train are standard Twitch emotes. The idea is that if the streamer can add some extra emotes there, users might be more encouraged to participate.

    • Be able to use bits for rewards instead of channel points.
Explanation: Users who don't have enough points (or even those who do) could choose to redeem a reward for points using bits instead. Or the streamer could choose to have some rewards exclusively for bits or only for subscribers.

    • Add some Bit-based games.

  12. Conversion of Twitch currency to a monetary unit - this refers to the process of converting Twitch currency into a chosen national currency, such as dollars, euros, or any other monetary unit.

The idea is to convert Bits into a monetary unit (dollars) and use it for purchasing subscriptions and making donations. This eliminates the need for repetitive conversion and transaction processes. For instance, if the wallet balance is 10,000 monetary units (dollars), my intention is not only to gift subscriptions to my favorite streamers but also to donate a monetary amount (dollars) to support them. Additionally, users have the…

  13. If we get more, easier, options to buy bits/subs. More viewers and creators will buy them. For example me. It just gives more comfort in buying them and its way faster.

  15. i think it would be cool if your earnings could be used to buy bits and subscriptions. your twitch earnings would go down of course xD but i just thought it would be nice, because then we wouldnt have to wait so long for it to be cashed out into our accounts, we could just spend it on others and make them happy.

  16. I am having an issue with my channel where viewers are unable to donate using Bits. Can you pleas e assist me in resolving this problem? Thank you. The cheer button next to the send emoticon button is not visible.

I submitted 3-4 tickets stating that I had the above problem, but they told me that I had to choose the right category. There is no direct category to report this problem, so I sent it in the closest categories I saw, but again they told me to choose the right options, so I wanted to write it here. Which…

  18. Stop raising the price of bits. €9 for €5 worth of bits is just greed from a company owned by one of the richest men in the world. I'll never buy bits again. I'll just directly donate through Paypal and avoid being swindled by a billionaire. Youtube is slowly but surely taking all Twitch's big streamers for a reason. Be better.
