  2. Last month, I took a vacation, so I ran reruns for my community to enjoy! However, initially unknown to me, It pushed my stream hours to 119 for the month when I normally stream around 80. This also messed up my ad offer for August significantly.

In July, I was able to pick between 5, 6 and 7 minutes of ads, which is no issue for me and the way that I do things. The offer for July's ad program was very nice and was a great balance between time spent showing ads and money offered.

    For August, I was…

  3. Currently you can only space ads AT MOST by 1 hour, but some content doesn't really lend itself well to that. The same logic applies to the initial delay just like 1 hour isn't enough, there's no way 30 minutes is enough. All this makes the manager basically unusable. Maybe an option to make the first ad shorter? I think the manager is a great idea for people like me that want to run ads but keep forgetting, but it's too rigid in its current state if your content needs to not be cut off by an ad

  4. Twitch needs to quit breaking the FCC Calm Act Law!.
    https://www.fcc.gov/enforcement/areas/sound-volume-commercials-calm-act
More people need to report this site for this infraction, then maybe Support will do something if they get charged and fined, which after what Twitch has done to so many streamers I am all for.

  5. Twitch should allow streamers to decide if ads for products like alcohol, nicotine/tobacco, and gambling can be shown on their channel. If we could opt out of these types of ads, Twitch could still play other ads at the same spot. If not, Twitch could write into the opt-out terms that we just earn less when an ad spot is 'skipped' due to opting out of addiction-triggering ads.

I want to create content that is safe from triggering addiction and adjacent behaviors/impulses, but this does not mean I only want to make kid-friendly content.
This feels impossible to do when…

  6. I would like to not run ads at all. I get that streamers get revenue, but its so small to me, that it doesn't really matter. I, like a few people I've interacted with, directly or indirectly, feel like the random roll of ads (sometimes a 3 minute ad will roll) deters new viewers from sticking around longer to find if they like the streamer. There are some people who just aren't "on" for the entire stream and it takes a good 2 minutes for an interesting topic to come up, but when you already say through ads, you decide…

  7. If zero of the streamers you follow, and zero of the content you consume are Spanish speaking, then disable Spanish adds for that account. I have never watched anything but English speaking streamers, yet half or more of my ads are in Spanish. Just a waste of money for the advertisers.

  8. If a scheduled ad is going to run right after a raid, there should be a way for Ad Manager to automatically delay the ad run by an amount of time (5-10 minutes), so the raiders have an opportunity to see the streamer before that ad break.

  10. In the Ad Scheduler (Until you have the ability to actually Manage Ads then this feature needs to be Renamed) there should be an option to choose which type of Ads your channel shows, ie Lower Thirds, pic-in-pic, display or audio.

For example most Broadcasters may actually be open to showing 22min/hour of ads (current max setting in scheduler) if those 3mins of ads every 8min on stream were lower thirds ads that didn't block access to viewing the stream or listening to its audio.

Then in the Scheduler which you could now call a Manager, show what the potential…

  11. I pay for twitch turbo, why is there not an option to turn off ads for subtember? If you sell a product like turbo with no ads, I expect no ads. You’re not exempt from that.

  12. Snoozes are used in situations where having an ad play will interrupt something important; the exact moments that you DON'T want ANYONE to miss.
At present, this means that the preroll-off time will expire, and anyone coincidentally jumping in during the Snooze period, potentially to watch that hype moment, is going to get hit with a preroll instead.

So make Snoozing add 5m to the preroll-off time bank. Simple. Not abusable. Makes sure nobody misses that awesome moment.

  13. When a streamer ends their stream and shares their community with another via raiding.
They are currently subjected to the raided channels ad settings (preroll vs midrolls). With midrolls they can raid in just before an ad break starts, which subjects them to the adverts.
In some cases this can happen within seconds of joining the stream.

I propose a way to automatically snooze an incoming ad break when a raid comes in. We already have the ability to snooze ads manually and if I remember correctly gift bombs and cheers can also delay adverts, so why not raids?

    This…

  14. Everyone hates ads. There's no reason why Twitch should be allowed to steal more of my money wasting my viewers time because I show less ads. I'd rather just have no ads at all

  15. Recently, I've been having issues where a streamer runs 2 or 3 minutes of ads while taking a scheduled break and Twitch only shows me 15 seconds of ads or none at all during that time, but then, less than an hour later, the stream is getting interrupted by ads that the streamer is clearly not aware of. He actually makes the effort to keep the ads from ruining the experience for his viewers while trying to avoid pre-rolls for new viewers. However, lately Twitch has been running mid-roll ads at random times and not when the streamer actually runs…

  16. One might think a banner that only slightly shrinks the screen would seem a less intrusive way of delivering ads than full-screen ads, but I'm finding them more annoying. Their frequency combined with their commonly using a white background creates a huge contrast between the often-darker backgrounds of the stream. I.e., they're an eyesore.

I suggest advertisers be required to also provide a "dark mode" version of their banner. Let viewers toggle their preferred mode in account settings and additionally provide a checkbox to toggle the mode whenever a banner ad is displayed.

  17. Hello Ad Manager
I am a fine artist, painting in watercolour as LorrainePaints. I am steadily growing my stream thanks to my son Grathwrang. Although Twitch is geared up for gamers (this is obvious) it is an excellent social media site for lots of artists. It is unfortunate that this has not dawned on your management. So I challenge you to find sponsorships that suit the many artists on Twitch. It is extremely costly to buy the tons of supplies necessary to 'perform' on a stream. How about finding someone to help support us, like a major art supplier (Winsor…

  18. Stop bursting my eardrums with ads, I took a habit of listening to ASMR streams to help me sleep or to get rid of a migraine, and when your ads pops up it’s often 10 times the volume of the stream, which will either wake me up or worsen my migraine. Please, stop playing ads in ASMR streams. It ****** me off and every time it plays I have to resist the urge to just throw my phone in the wall.

  20. Don't you get it, Twitch-Team?!
Yes, I would like to display ads.
    Pre-Stream? Sure, why not?
    Banner ads? Yes, of course!
But cut the random fullscreen ads!
Muting a live stream for some random ads, for any duration is the worst!
And no, if it's intense and I am "in the game", I don't notice any popup of an upcoming ad, nor do I care or want it!

Give me the option to opt-out of the random fullscreen ads, please!
