Reduce Ad ideas for discoverability
Delay new ads if a viewer is channel hopping to help with discovery. Space out ads by category to avoid hitting the same viewer with 6 ads in 15 minutes, if they’re browsing. A discovery mode where ads pause while exploring new channels.
A 3–5 minute first visit window with no ads, to let you get hooked before interrupting. If you stay longer, then ads start normally.
Create a dedicated Discover or Random Stream mode that’s ad-free for exploration. Twitch could limit it to, say, 20 minutes per day. Just enough to let people find new streamers without frustration.
If more users could easily support creators without subs or bits, ads could be reduced. Add a “Skip this ad for $0.05 tip” option. Sometimes I don't want to miss what's being said, and to be able to skip OR delay an ad would be helpful.
Let viewers choose to “watch 1 ad = support streamer” as a voluntary action. Something needs to be done about the ads. 3 minutes of ads is crazy when trying to find new streamers to watch. And the ads are VERY repetitive.
