Option to not run ads in the first few minutes after going live
When we schedule regular ads, Twitch will run ads at the start of the broadcast according to the "first ad delay" setting (between 1 and 6 minutes).
For most channels, I think this first ad run is pointless:
- There's hardly anyone around to see the ads
- The few people who are around get punished instead of rewarded for engaging with notifications and arriving early
If we use the ad manager to schedule regular ad breaks in order to remove preroll ads, Twitch could just give us that first period of no-pre-rolls, safe in the knowledge that our regular ads are going to run on schedule.
For the vast majority of channels out there, given how low viewership is right at the start of broadcasts compared to the first real ad break, this is unlikely to affect Twitch's ad revenue, and might actually have a positive effect on average viewership if early stream attendance is boosted (and subsequently higher ad revenue from the real ad breaks).

Second this as a viewer. Logic is sound. First run ads for viewers can mess up using specific redeems only available once per stream. Makes for a frustrating experience and make showing up for streams when *scheduled* less likely to happen.

This ad manager setup also leads to us getting a fresh set of ads if the stream crashes or disconnects long enough to count as a new stream, which is aggravating if this happens shortly after the regularly scheduled ads.
Having ads be per-channel rather than per-stream would address this.
