Ad placement deters users for the platform and needs changing
Seemingly, nine times out of ten an advert will play the second you view a stream and I believe this strongly deters people from watching.
If I see a streamer enjoy and click their stream, I am all but guaranteed an advert before I even start watching. My general reaction is to immediately close Twitch and open Youtube or turn on the TV.
I'd rather be watching the streamer I opened Twitch for, but I don't want to immediately have an ad the second I join any stream. Using television as an example; there are plenty of adverts, they're annoying, but we sit through them if we're watching something already and are engaged. The chances of turning on the TV and being faced with an ad are pretty low, but if we see them the second we turn on the TV we'll probably change channel.
I think the placement of advertisements is terrible, honestly. Please change them so that there is a window upon visiting a stream that prevents us instantly having an ad. I also think that a lot of people are unwilling to pay yet another subscription just so they can skip ads, especially priced at £12~.
