Affiliates should be able to disable ads!
Affiliates don’t earn enough from ads to have to deal with the headache of them consistently rolling when they’re gaming or whatever content they’re doing! We should have the option to TRUELY DISABLE THEM or have a timer when the next one is gonna show, YouTube has a marker that shows when an ad is gonna run, I get with live streaming that isn’t possible but if I know the times they’re gonna run, I’ll be sure to not start a game or pause the video or stop my content for the 3 minutes it’s gonna run, so my community doesn’t miss anything! It’s almost like you’re punishing the ones that can’t subscribe by forcing them to watch ads and miss out on content. Please

Absolutely agree. I tried out removing affiliate once and i had the feeling i had more average viewers. But of course i missed channel points and the possibility to earn via subs. I dont think twitch really earns money with my average viewership related on how much traffic i cause every second day. I make like... idk... between 2 and 5 dollar each month. Thats really not worth it. Not for me. Not for twitch. I think for small streamer it would 100% better to catch more viewers which are willed to pay for subs. Some viewers dont WANT to go to big streamers. But if they get flooded by prerolls or ads at the wrong moments i also understand users that they leave.
I think twitch has literally no pro at affiliate with ads with a low viewership in average.
Also i watch some big german streamer often. He has like a preroll once and then he streams until 2am in the morning, so 8 hours. And there is NO MORE ad? Because why? I really like him, but this is a really really big and unfair advantage compared to small streamers. I am a bit frustrated about that to be honest.
I dont say its just about the ads. But i think its ALSO because of that. People in the early days came more often from like "hey i scrolled through twitch". But everyone is affiliate now and i am honest. If i do that and there is a preroll i go to the next subs.
I can understand twitch for doing ads. But not on very small streamers / streamers with low average viewership.
Please twitch: Let us decide under conditions (<100 average viewers in the last 30 days as example) if we want to show ads or not. This would be a W for everyone.

Livestreaming is all about spontaneous fun of the moment. And a lot of the time on Twitch, that spontaneous fun is covered up by shoehorned advertisements.
Smaller streamers get barely any revenue from ads. I get $5 of ad revenue per month. That is not anywhere near worth the damage to my stream watchability inflicted by ads.
Let us opt out of running ads on our channels.
