Ad volume slider
Consumers need control over volume.
On 5% speaker and the lowest setting on Twitch audio bar, ad volumes still instantly destroy my Twitch experience.
I have left not 5, not 10, but over THIRTY streams in the past two weeks because I was unwilling to listen to MAX VOLUME ADVERTISEMENTS.
Pre-stream "you must go deaf before you qualify to watch a guy play lullabies on guitar" ads are a horrid experience. I wanted something to lull me to sleep, not a referral to a otolaryngologist.

This is extremely important to keep viewers watching especially sound sensitive people!

Often I get ads where people just start screaming out of nowhere as the very first thing, no warning. Its quite horrible to randomly get jumpscared while watching a stream with super loud noises, or shouting or screaming. I'd love an ad volume slider and it could be a minimum of 10% if twitch wants people to listen to ads still and not mute them. A countdown, or a loading bar that an ad is about to start would be awesome too to remove the jumpscare factor.

I have turned down my sounds because I am jarred by the loud sound of ads every time they come on. I have my sound at 20% I should not be shaken and scared by loud ads when they come on.

Over 3 years after this was posted, it remains an issue

Ads going to max volume even when its set to 5 is awful. I have to adjust the volume on EACH ad to get them to be on lower volume. Twitch is actually going to lose ad revenue this way.

As someone who recently started streaming ASMR this is a big issue. It's very very jarring to viewers to listen to peaceful talking and sounds then suddenly are rocked by loud ads. Please consider adding this or at the very least over all adjust the volume for certain categories such as ASMR and Music! Thanks!

In recent days, the ads of "tower of fantasy" is seriously super loud.
I was using twitch app on my phone and suddenly unbearable noise almost blew up my head and eardrum.
I reported many many times but it's still absurdly loud and disturbing. This is MURDER, not joking at all.

+20db to ads is to much and it is making my hearing loss worse.

I personally find the worst part of the ads is the second they come on, I don't know why but it seems like for a split second the ad is just cranked right up and it honestly hurts my ears and gives me headaches.. hope this issue is resolved, I have been watching twitch since 2015 and it would be a shame to leave the platform over the volume of ads..

I am surprised that this issue has been left unaddressed for a year and a half since this proposal was made. If you guys are intentionally letting these issues go unaddressed in order to draw attention to your ads, it is counterproductive. On the contrary, I am sometimes even disgusted by loud advertisements. I don't just want to criticize, I want these problems to go away and for many people to be comfortable watching a great stream.

In fact, compared to the streamer, the advertising is clearly too loud! The streamer can run with 100% sound and the advertising I have to turn down to 10% -20%.
Please fix it! This is extremely annoying! -

This is just about the most awful part of Twitch. If I click on an offline streamer to check their posted schedule, I get an ad on their front page that's roughly as loud as a crate full of M80s detonating next to a Saturn V being launched from the site of an exploding volcano. It's physically painful to go from the soft whirr of several computer fans to a 600db ad for Perrier water with no warning.

Ads are very loud.
The broadcast is very quiet and there is almost only one voice.
The sound is too loud when ads pop up suddenly. My ears hurt.
It's so inconvenient that the ad image looks bad.
Please turn down all ad sounds -

Why does the volume max out every time an AD plays? This did not used to be a feature. Seems like you just do not care about viewer experience. Money tight? Gotta get that McDonalds money, no more Bezos bucks I guess :( ... I will Brace myself for some long drawn out, confusing explanation how the volume has to be on MAX because viewers have AD Block.

Can you please make it possible to lower the volume of ads and keep it separate from the stream. Whenever there's a ad I have to mute it or my ears will hurt for a good minute from how loud it is. I know for a fact that playing really loud stuff through headphones isn't good for them or me.
