1. No more mandatory phone number verification.

   This has been posted before and will likely fall on deaf ears again because there's money involved. But here I go trying anyway.

   Stop requiring users to hand over their phone numbers just to chat. I know bot problems are a convenient excuse to force this on people, but I still don't agree with it.

   I'm a paying customer. Have been for years now. Why do I still need to prove my authenticity by giving Twitch my phone number? Oh I know. Because data-brokers pay well.

   Let me put it this way: If I'm paying money for a service and I'm being prevented from using it until I also pay with information, doesn't that qualify as extortion?

   Just something to think about. I'll go watch VODs on YouTube now. Peace.

2. Non-Reachable Emails

   Allot of different websites offer this feature, but, how about making it so that if you somehow in someway can't login to your account after reporting missing credentials, it will offer you the chance to send the email about (e.g resetting your password) to an email that you can access.

3. Allow all opt-out of AI usage/training (like all of it)

   As everyone knows, Twitch is rolling out with AI features and is trying to train itself using content that their own creators to enhance it. There is already an opt-out option for some of it under "Security and Privacy Settings" in the creator dashboard. It's automatically on by default, and many Twitch creators has already disabled it. However, looking further into the Twitch Privacy Notice and the FAQs, this opt-out does NOT mean that creators are already out of this abrasive policy.

   According to the FAQ (https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/twitch-account-settings#FAQ); the opt-out does not cover everything AI. It does allow for things like AutoMod and captions, which does make sense but that NEEDS to be a separate option for creators because not everyone is comfortable with having AI being trained with their stuff.

   Also, the Twitch Privacy Notice has been updated to include that Twitch used your personal information to "[use] data to develop or deploy our generative AI models and services." That links to an Amazon Generative AI Development Disclosure, which does not allow Twitch users (or Amazon customers) to opt out of this "service". All users of Amazon, but especially Twitch should be able to opt-out of having their own personal data being used to train GenAI.

   We need to be able to:
   1) Opt out of AI usage in general; even at the expense of not being able to use AutoMod or Captions.
   2) Opt out, or at least limit the training of GenAI while using Amazon/Twitch products and services.
   3) Options to use/allow AI training to be TURNED OFF by default for all Twitch users.

   Twitch also needs to explain in full on all platforms and via official email whenever they are rolling out AI features, how to opt-out (if they do not turn it off by default), and why they're doing it. The "hide it under the rug and pray no one notices" strategy that they used with this AI rollout has made a lot of creators distrust the platform, thinking about leaving the platform, and leaves creators with more questions than they left with... Transparency is key to a safe and healthy platform for ALL users, after all.

   TLDR, my ideas:
   - Allow for all opt-out of AI usage and using Twitch content for AI training purposes.
   - Twitch to give greater transparency when implementing these policies/tools.
   - Amazon to allow for opt-out for their GenAI training on all Amazon products.

4. Concern regarding automatic opt-in for AI training and GDPR compliance for EU citizens

   Twitch.tv, recently implemented an automatic 'opt-in' feature where all user-generated content on the platform is used to train Amazon's AI models. This includes live streams, clips, chat messages, and voice data.

   Users are required to manually 'opt-out' of this feature; otherwise, it remains enabled by default. I strongly believe this practice violates the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its core principles. Under GDPR, processing personal data, which includes biometric data like voices and faces, as well as identifiable chat logs, requires explicit, informed, and unambiguous consent. An automatic opt-in default fails to meet the legal standard for consent. This also violates several national data protection laws across Europe.

   I urge you to review this policy to ensure full compliance with European data protection laws and to please notify me when this is in progress and has been completed. I will also be filing a complaint to NOYB as well as the Swedish Integrity Authority for review.

5. Please don't arbitrarily demand phone numbers from people with verified emails

   Why, after ten years of chatting on Twitch with a verified email address, is Twitch blocking me from every single Twitch chat unless I give my phone number? I've been on great behavior for my entire time on Twitch, so why did Twitch impose this on my account a few months ago? Twitch has not given any reason, and I don't want to provide both my email address and phone number to Twitch.

   I've contacted the owners of certain channels who I know on other websites and they've confirmed that they didn't turn on the phone verification setting, so this is something Twitch is doing. I've investigated the matter on search engines as well, and I've found that several other Twitch users are facing the same puzzling restriction.

   Please explain why my rules-abiding account was suddenly hit with this phone restriction after ten years. I've done nothing to make Twitch unsafe or unfun, and I've even been apologized TO by users in chat rooms. Please lift this restriction so I and other well-behaved people can chat with only a verified email address. This phone requirement was not placed due to a behavior strike, nor is a phone number required for every Twitch user to chat on the website.

   Also, if this is a glitch instead of a design choice, it's a very bad glitch for your site to have! Additionally, if an unrelated detail will get a human to read this post, a few months prior to the phone number requirement restriction/glitch I tried to gift a channel five subscriptions, but Twitch wouldn't accept the payment and gave no explanation as to why. The credit card was just fine and still is, and no one was blocked from giving or receiving a subscription.

6. Customer service for special cases?

   Not entirely sure what category this falls under, but, I'll describe the issue I am currently facing.

   I can't verify my account:

   My new-ish phone number is tied to an account with a bogus username and email that doesn't belong to me. I'm stuck in a position where I can't disassociate the phone number with the fraudulent account.

   In order to do so, I need access to the account and this is where things get tricky.

   You can log in with your phone number via the app. If you don't know the username, you can have a text sent to you with that info. You can then attempt to reset the password and log in.

   I did all of the above, got the username, reset the password.

   Next issue. The account is linked to my phone number, but, the 2FA is sent to their email rather than, you know, the phone number and Authy that ALL of my other accounts are linked to. They can also see that I reset their password and with a single click undo my change and likely have enough time to change their username.

   Since I don't know this individuals email, I can't do anything. I've submitted a ticket, several, actually. The email starts with a letter nowhere even alphabetically close to any email I have ever created, which is how I know this isn't a matter of user error. The email obfuscation only adding to the problem.

   I've been bounced around in circles all day trying to get this issue resolved. I offered to talk to someone directly via the phone number in question, well within office hours only to be shut down by automatically generated emails with dead-end links, completely irrelevant to my problem.

   As for solutions?

   Aside from having a body with a pulse around to tackle special cases such as this, I'm not sure. A simple call back would have likely resolved this issue in less than 10 minutes. Instead, I've wasted a full day, created a twitter, hoping to get into contact with staff, probably sprouted a grey hair, maybe lost a few of my others.

   Pardon the obtuse tone, but, this is frustrating. I would gladly help twitch resolve these sorts of issues on behalf of those who aren't affiliated or partnered. I've been on this platform for nearly a decade now, Twitch CX used to be great.

7. Implement One Time Code by Email

   When you sign up for a new account you are asked to input a one time code through email.

   Please implement the One Time Code for ALL, EXISITING & NEW accounts when logging in.

   Context: I do not have an active cell phone, I live in an area that does not receive SMS Text for the login code, therefore I can't use Authy either. I've been trying to log back into my account for about 3 weeks at this point with help from friends, but to no avail it didn't work.

   Conclusion: Please implement this into the login system, it would not only be a easy fix, but it would save a lot of headaches and frustrations, for people who are unable to use the current Authy system that is in place. I would recommend getting rid of the Authy 2FA and in place of it use OTP (Open Time Password/Code) via Email that the account is connected to when trying to login.

   You do have a similar system already with NEW ACCOUNTS when signing up, HOWEVER! Not for accounts that already EXIST within the system. Please update it to this, it would be a lifesaver for those who don't have Cell Phone Service.

8. Account Unblock needed (Verified Accounts Only Chat)

   I @hylitiz have over 10y of active email-verified account history with Twitch and recently started seeing "Verified Accounts Only Chat" in every streamer, regardless of what the streamer's stream setting was. (I have confirmed with 4 streams on their chat verification settings).

   Please unblock my account. I do not feel there is a need to provide my phone number to Twitch to "verify" me.

9. upgrade your sms verification for the philippines pls

   I have been struggling to verify my account because twitch is asking me for my phone number and whenever I ask a 6-digit code to be sent in my sms, I get LITERALLY nothing. And this has been a problem for me for months. Is there a way for Twitch to fix this issue? pls i am begging hhh

13. Account age verification from the start

    Recently a 19 year old got susspended on Twitch indefinitley for being under age, this is not ok. Twitch should be absolutley sure about ages and not have an auto bot ban users falsly.
    This idea is all about having an ID registered into the accounts when creating them, using the candidate number, date of birth, ect. Basically a debit card for paying for bits, but with an ID registering the person behind the account and also verifying their age. If the ID is renewed then Twitch should ask the user to update their details with the new ID.

14. Provide ability for UK existing Twitch users to age verify their accounts

    Recently, existing Twitch accounts in the United Kingdom have had access to what Twitch deems mature content such as horror games blocked. However there is currently no method provided to verify a UK users age. Please provide an age verification method for UK users as soon as possible to minimise disruption to those users and allow them to restore their full access to Twitch streaming services.

15. Issue with SMS verification code for adding phone number

    I believe that not everyone from only those countries that are able to add their phone number to their twitch account with no issues of sms verification code, cos I'm unable to add mine and unable to receive the sent sms verification code from twitch.
    the twitch team, please fix this issue so that everyone from every country worldwide (where twitch is available) will be able to add his/her own phone number to his/her own twitch account respectively.

16. An option to enable a 2FA app manually without using a QR code

    Please give us a manual option to enable a 2FA app (by entering or copying the secret, without using a QR code). Almost every website with 2FA has this option. Some people might have broken phone cameras, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be able to activate 2FA on Twitch, as 2FA is a core part of account security.

    Are you serious? I've had a twitch account for years and have dmed people no problem. Now you require my phone number? This is thinly veiled predatory practice. 18. Add Parental Controls and Supervized Accounts for accounts under 18

    Hello! I welcome the new Twitch guidelines and support people doing their own content, as long as it's labelled properly.

    Having said that, where I can see Twitch improve upon in terms of safety is something that Sony did a long time ago for PSN accounts: If you're under 18, your Twitch account has to be a mandatory supervised account by another Twitch account that's over 18. That way, anything M-rated and labelled with suggestive/sexual content could be forcefully filtered out for those supervised accounts and when the user turns 18, they get an option to remove said restrictions. It's not 100% fool proof, but it should help in giving parents more control on what their child see on the platform.

    Allowing users to complete the Affiliate Application by using their Paypal or another method that doesn't include sharing their SSN would be a major step privacy wise.

    If someone's SSN gets stolen, it can ruin them financially for years to come or even for life. This is why we are told never to share that number. Having a work around where we can file the taxes ourselves without having to give out our SSN to Twitch or Amazon would be beneficial to all involved and would help reduce the chances of people getting their SSN stolen.

20. Make a way that we can recover a phone number

    Please make a way to recover a phone number, or a way to disconect every account off a phone number because in Brazil the phone numbers that you get can already have been used by another person before you purchase your chip and for now i have a phone number that i canot use because we don't have a option like this (sorry for my bad english)
