Name Change Cooldown
Reduce the amount of cooldown after a name change, I have had to wait for 6+ months to get my name changed after I accidentally changed my name. I didn't get a reply from support after 6 months either, so I had to wait it out.
Even when you change your name you might not even be able to get the name back, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Having to wait 6+ months to get your name back and yet not be able to get it is something that needs to be changed when I accidentally changed my name the Twitch.tv website crashed at the time and that's why I had to refresh the site and then it was logged into the wrong account, so it changed my name on my main account and not my alt. Therefor stuff like this should be reduced so it won't happen to anyone again.

Bump for view. Please change the time to be able to change user/display name. 60 days is a bit much. Thank you

Decrease the time to change the user name because for example, in my case I made a mistake and changed the name of my account and now I have to wait two months until I can change it again, I suggest to put less time to change the user name.

The name should be changed whenever you want because if a person makes a grammatical mistake and does not notice it, he should be able to change it and instead wait 60 days just to correct that mistake. Or, another example, if I don't like the name I just entered and I want to change it I can't do it because I have to wait 60 days.

Currently, users can change their names once every 60 days and old user names are recycled after at least 6 months. In my experience, it is not uncommon for users to want to switch back to an old name but they have to wait 6+ months to do it. I suggest allowing a user to change their name back at any time within that 6 month period (like <https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310228-account-management-e-g-login-connections-pass/suggestions/42914982-revert-username-change>), bypassing the 60 day rename cooldown (but the cooldown would apply after renaming back).
I suggest limiting the 6 month grace period to names with some level of activity (i.e., while using that name). Specifically, the kind of "activity" I would consider are things where someone else taking the old name could confuse others, like adding friends or getting new followers. If this activity level has not been met, recycle the name after the 60 day cooldown (during which the user would still be able to revert the change).
In the same way, I have a number of suggestions to help with confusion after a user has changed names.
"Your channel URL will not redirect to your new name. You will need to update the URL anywhere you are using it." The old URL should redirect during the 6 month period (or for much longer, but maybe not forever, for partners). API requests for /helix/users?login=oldname should return successful responses with the login field as newname and perhaps an additional field indicating the matched oldname (so requests with multiple login parameters specified are not confused).
I suggest also showing in a users follows and friends lists the name that was used when the follow/friend was added, for at least the 6 month period.
Note:
Some people might say that some of these changes could help people intent on harassing others, but these suggestions are entirely about making name changes a more seamless transition in most cases. Renaming an account does not change its unique user identifier, friends, follows/followers, subscriptions/subscribers, some or all of which can potentially be used by harassers. The best option at this time in cases of harassment is to delete the account, after reporting everything to Twitch and law enforcement, if appropriate. -

닉네임 변경기간을 60일이 아닌 7일로 줄여주세요 그냥 이게 바뀌나 궁금해서 클릭해봤는데 60일뒤에 변경 가능하다네요 정말 어처구니가 없어서 정말 힘드네요

Change the period between changing usernames from 60 days to 30 days. Most other platforms that have a waiting period are 30 days, so if you change your branding you should be able to change your branding across all platforms generally at the same time. Twitch appears to be the only one that has a two month waiting period as opposed to 30 days.

I think twitch should just let you change it 3 times every 60 days

Yo Twitch, you want to be on the forefront of the internet viewing experience??? Let me give you a hint. Allow users to change their names whenever they want. If your architecture didn't expect this, ON THE INTERNET, then shame on you. Pay money to re-architect. Love your users.

I guess I will just jump in too and say that the 2 month wait between name changes it absurd. I understand some restrictions perhaps to avoid constant name changes and potential issues behind the scenes for Twitch (e.g., URL changes, etc.), but offering a window of time to revert a change (e.g., 24-48 hours) or even reducing it down to something like 14-30 days would be far more reasonable. Every other platform I use for content has far greater flexibility than Twitch with these changes, so I am not sure why this is so restrictive.

I agree with you. This 6 month cooldown is way too long. Moreover, there is currently no warranty these name would actually be recycled after this delay.

This cooldown definitely need to be reduced. 6 month to get an old name back is way too long, mostly when you regretted your change. Moreover, these cooldown only indicate the minimum time. Some people never got their name back. This policy needs to change.

I don't have much to say, besides half a year is an obscenely long wait to reclaim your original username. As is 2 months to try a new one.
