  1. Re-add an app access token based endpoint to get all chatters for a stream, in an anonymized form, for more detailed analytics.

To insure this data isn't used in a bad way, the user should be anonymized, so you only know that a user watches streamer a, b and c but not who this user is.

It would also be necessary to only allow this endpoint for streams with a viewer_count greater than 500 (or some other number) to insure the user not being identifiable.
By allowing to get all chatters for a stream, you can create more detailed analytics…

  2. The problem occurred after the release of an extension game i developed, where the viewers could spend channel points to obtain in-game currency. With over 6000 viewers, the chat became impossible to moderate as there were so many messages per second. This very simple option would greatly relieve the chat in such situations.

    E.g.: "is_highlighted" (defaults to true)

  3. Extend

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-eventsub-subscriptions

To add a optional query string param of id to allow developers to lookup a single subscription.

If a developer stores the ID's when the subs are created, they may want to spot check a single ID's status, or check the settings of it, without having to paginate or manually filter the results returned when using on of the currently offered filter options

  4. A topic to account for emotes being added or remove from "global" or a specific ChannelID would be useful.

    It's hamstrung by

    https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/39547780-emotes-by-channelid

    As we can't catch up

There are a number of Twitch Extensions that would be good to know if/when emotes change. (HypeMeter for example)

And Developers of single channel bots will need to know so they can add/remove emotes from any channel commands.

It's also useful for custom channel tooling to keep lists up to date in custom tooling if/when https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/41137957-upload-emotes is actioned as well

This includes but is not limited to

    • regular subscriber emotes
    • bits/cheer emotes
    • …

  6. Add subscriptionStatus to extension JWT. Currently subscriptionStatus is in Twitch.ext.viewer. With it in the JWT, it can be verified by an extension backend.

  7. When switching from IRC to the "Send Chat Message" Helix endpoint in a third party chat client, we noticed that the error messages were less descriptive when compared to some of the NOTICE messages received through IRC.

    • When a user is timed out and attempts to send a message, they get a drop_reason of "You are timed out from talking in the room." (code: usertimedout). Over IRC, the user would've received a NOTICE with a msg-id=msg_timedout and a message that includes the remaining duration in seconds. At the very least, the message in Helix should include the seconds.…

  9. I am in the case of a big streamer who has dozens of moderators. We do not have the possibility to know, neither by EventSub, nor by API, which is the moderator who created or ended a prediction. It's annoying because it happens very regularly that some do anything.

Would it be possible to add moderatorid, moderatorlogin and moderator_username information on the prediction creation and resolution events?

  11. At the moment, only the broadcaster is allowed to use the polls and predictions endpoints because the broadcaster id must match the OAuth token. I think that allowing moderators of the specific channel should also be able to use these endpoints. This would be really helpful for Chatterino for example. In order for moderators to create polls or predictions, they have to go to the actual chat on the website to type in /prediction or /poll. If moderators were able to access the endpoint, Chatterino could easily add a command to bring up a window to create a poll or…

  13. To give more freedom in using Bits, having a Bits escrow system would be great.
RFC0011 ( https://discuss.dev.twitch.tv/t/rfc-0011-extension-entitlement-service/19142 ) introduced that idea but was never implemented.

What would be the possible flows:
    - A viewer sends Bits, that are put "on hold"
    - The streamer cancels the action asked by the viewers (because the stream is ending for example)
    - After some delay, the Bits are refunded to the viewer because the transaction was not validated.

-- Viewers send Bits, that are put "on hold"
    - The streamer cancels the action asked by the viewers (because the stream is ending…

  15. If EventSub is aiming to replace IRC, increasing the WebSocket-based connection limit beyond 3 simultaneous connections is necessary for projects that run client-side and connect directly to Twitch independently. Streamers can modify and manipulate copies of such files in the filesystem and/or in OBS, all using the same authentication token, which, even if not simultaneously visible, may simultaneously continue running to prevent awkward failure of functionality during transitions.
I don't think a limit anything like the new IRC maximum of 100 is necessary -- if someone has 100 copies of one thing in OBS, this limit isn't going to be…

  16. There should be a way to enable notifications on Twitch to know when a drop is available for the video games you choose. So that Twitch notify you through e-mail or something.

****! I always miss half of the drops... (._.)

Also keep in mind that there are people who only watch Twitch when there are drops for their favorite video game.

  17. In a recent campaign in the old system, we ran it via "All Category" can participate. This caused us to end up having multiple streamers who were just "Drop streamers" participate even though they were not playing our game, they had simply set it as their category.

The idea for this function is to allow us to select creators to be unable to Stream. If we catch streamers mid-stream not playing our game while granting rewards, we would like to also remove them from the drop list as well.

With the new limitations in being able to run simultaneous campaigns,…

  18. EventSub exists for channels adding/removing moderator status to a user. I'd like the other way around. I'd like to receive an EventSub notification if I have been added/removed as a moderator.

    Why:
In order to receive a notification whether my bot has been added/removed as a moderator in a channel, I have to subscribe to every streamer I support on channel.moderator.(add|remove), with the condition of broadcaster_user_id = streamer ID. If I could set a condition of user_id = my bot ID, I would only need ONE eventsub subscription each for add and remove, instead of 75000+ each. Win-win for…

  19. Summary:
From first glance, it would seem that the progress of each channel.hype_train.progress is determined by the contribution; however, there seems to be no way to determine from the single progress event payload to determine by how much it changed. There is a 'total' amount provided by the last_contribution, but this does not determine the progress provided in that event.

    Suggestion:
Add a 'progress_added' value in the event object indicating how much this one event "helped".

  20. Currently bits transactions only let you be notified of the SKU that was used.

I would like to see a more "PayPal" model or the bits usage flow.

Developers would make a POST request to Twitch with the SKU and any meta/extra data for the purchase, which would return a CheckoutID.

Developers would then pass the CheckoutID to use bits

    window.Twitch.ext.bits.useBits(sku, CheckoutID);

Then on completion (or cancel) and thus the webhook/Transactions API, can return a reference to that CheckoutID and allow developers to obtain that meta data, either via API call, or returned in the onTransactionComplete JWT.

    The CheckoutID created…
