  1. We third party dev's often build tools that assist with moderation actions/services for broadcasters.

We tell Moderators to enable 2FA, but we have no way to check it.

It would be useful to block Logins to our tool if 2FA is not enabled. But 2FA data is not surfaced in the API and there's no way to require a User to be 2FA during the login/oAuth loop.

I'd like to see the users endpoint(s) provide 2FA status.
I expect this to be behind the user read or openID scopes.

openID allows email verified. Why not 2fa status (for example)

  2. We really need a way to determine what overlays display to the user so we can handle them gracefully. For example, we have no way of knowing when the mature overlay displays and this negatively affects our channel discovery UX.

  3. Currently you can subscribe to a webhook to receive a handful of types of events. The only way to see when a stream goes live is to subscribe to a topic for that particular user. It would be incredibly useful to specify a category and receive a webhook whenever a stream goes live in that category.

  5. for /helix/streams can we add:
    profileimageurl from /helix/users
and the game name (and potentially boxarturl) from /helix/games

This is very basic info related to the stream and would be really nice to have available in a single call rather than 3 separate calls. This is especially important with bots that are trying to get the status of many streams in a short period quickly racking up api calls

  6. Can we have the option for asymmetric JWT signing? I want to validate JWTs sent by twitch on publicly accessible software.

  7. As per a request from Barry, it would helpful if any flagged messages on a page were fixed or visible when loading a bookmarked section. For example, right now there is an important message on the API reference page about OAuth requirements for Helix, but if someone goes directly to https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-streams, they will not see this message currently.

  8. More information is required about the uniqueness of id. Is it unique forever (i.e. there will never be two messages with the same id) or is it just guaranteed unique within a timeframe?

  11. From: https://github.com/twitchdev/issues/issues/59

    Brief description

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/webhooks-reference#topic-moderator-change-events
    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/webhooks-reference#topic-channel-ban-change-events

    Expected documentation

Add, (similar to Topic: User Changed)

    Authentication
User Access Token must have the `moderation:read` for the user in question

  13. At the moment I have not found any way to get users app id (in my case Riot Account ID) which would allow me to authenticate user using Twitch API and at the same time make sure that user owns this Riot Account. Currently Riot does not support their own way of authentication for third-party developers, therefore Twitch would be great in this case if they shared app ids connected to the Twitch accounts.

  15. For extensions that center around Clips it would be nice to be able to play that clip in the extension rather than having the viewer leave the extension/Twitch streamer to go and view said clip.

  16. The description of the broadcaster_id inside of the Create Clip endpoint is very confusing because it states that this is the id of the stream but it really is the id of the broadcaster as the name suggests.

  17. If you have a not very tall browser.
And you request, a fair chunk of the oAuth scopes.

When you redirect the user to Twitch.

The Accept/Deny link page auto jumps down to the bottom of the page.

This means the first few/most "dangerous" scopes as well as the application name/logo and whom you are logged in as are above the fold of the page.

Basically "suggesting" to the user not to read all the scopes and just go accept/deny.

The auto jump to bottom of the page should be removed.

  19. While you do a good job of stating that the IRC interface deviates from the RFC, as well as where and how it deviates from the RFC, it may be beneficial to specifically call out the deviation that the MODE command is server-generated (read only), instead of being a keyword that can be generated by a client.

In other words, my bot cannot issue its own "MODE #channel +o nickname" command via the IRC interface (like it can on IRC), it can only receive notifications from the server that the server has sett one of those modes. One sentence covering…
