Follow state to the helper Copy everythign that is subscriber for extensions to follows
So,
- on activation run the oAuth scope check to allow reading channel follows
- Allow an extension app access token to call the "Get channel followers"
- Extend the JS helper to provide follow information similar to how subscriber status is
if the extension utilises onFollow it would follow the helper value is updated the same as subscibers would be
However existing bug - https://github.com/twitchdev/issues/issues/26 would also want to be fixed as well
Usercase:
broadly due to these API's moving to scoped it would be nice for serverless extensions to continue to not…

Guest Star events should allow guest_id as a condition as a streamer, I want to be able to subscribe to Guest Star events that involve my user id as a guest; currently, I can only subscribe to events using the host channel's ID as the condition.

Video Component Anchors The ability for the dev to set and/or provide options which allow the configuration of a video component's iframe anchored position on the video player, left, right, top, bottom, etc, as well as optional constraints to what anchors are available. Currently only right side of the player can be used.
I believe this option would increase the potential use-cases for video components as different sections of real-estate can have different levels of importance for whatever your video component has been designed for.
Alternatively adding pop-out functionality to video components.

Extension Helper isFollowStatusAvailable / followStatus The extension can request subscription status as a feature. If the feature is enabled and the user is linked the subscription status can be looked at using Twitch.ext.viewer.subscriptionStatus
It would be handy to have similar functionality for following status. Whether the viewer is following or not.
There is helper functions for actions.followChannel and a callback for action.onFollow
It could be that an extension has additional features if the viewer is following a channel that are not available to viewers that are not following.
To figure out if the user is following the channel currently would require getting a moderator:read:followers and…

Twitch Developer date/time format error On the following page: https://dev.twitch.tv/console/apps
The date and time is hardcoded as
MM/DD/Y, h:mm aand does not reflect the locale chosen, but it is using my local timezone. So despite me having Swedish selected, it for example gives me: "06/05/2023, 03:42 pm" for 5 June 2023 at 15:42 UTC+2.On the following page: https://dev.twitch.tv/console/extensions
The date and time is using the long format with forced 12 hour time in the local format, but it is using my local timezone. So using Swedish, it for example gives me "5 juni 2023 3:42 em" for 5 June 2023 at 15:42 UTC+2.

Increase check automod status limits Currently the limits for the normal account type allow to check 12.5% strings per minute compared to just sending those via chat to test if they pass automod restrictions. This drops to 2.08% per hour. (This drops to 2.5%/min and 0.42%/hour if the ability to have VIPs is unlocked)
The current rate limit types also seem to assume that larger streams are affiliate and or partners which is not necessarily true as there's game publishers who hold game release streams with easily 50+ viewers while not being partner/affiliate and channels who have decent amounts of viewers but do not stream…

EventSub Hello World Without code samples/examples, I find the documentation minimally useful. I've got a clientid, clientsecret, appid, appsecret, token? Bearer token, eventsuburl, callbackurl, etc. While I appreciate you listing what RESPONSE might look like, it would be nice to see at least a basic "hello world" code sample. For example, since minimal auth (none?) is needed to subscribe for when a streamer goes live, it seems that would make a nice example of the overall flow.

Adding an additional parameter to deleting rewards Currently, using https://api.twitch.tv/helix/channel_points/custom_rewards to DELETE a reward will mark any UNFULFILLED rewards as FULFILLED.
While this already feels wrong, it would be nice to be able to send an optional parameter that can set the status to CANCELED instead. This should help reduce the number of requests to Twitch and make it more manageable when having to delete more than 50 pending redemptions.
The current way we manage this is to get a list of all pending redemptions on the reward and then send a status update for 50 of them at a time before deleting, but if the goal…

Re-introduction of Sub-Only Tags Due to the removal of the stream tags_id a few weeks ago, it is no longer possible to tell from the tags whether the stream is a "sub-only" stream.
Maybe, so that the JSON is not unnecessarily extended by another point, the information could be added to the new custom-tags. Preferably as a fixed string without localization.

Add start and end values for emojis in the API Emotes with the type "twitch" has the attributes 'start' and 'end' that specifies where in the raw text it starts and ends.
But emotes with the type "emoji" lacks these values. The type "emoji" also lacks the exact character as text as well. The emoji "🐇" has the values name and id both being "1f407" and none being "🐇".
My goal is to go through from the end to the start of the text and replace each entry. Apparently emotes of the type twitch are also sorted before emotes of the type emoji, which means I can't go through the…

Entitlements for Specified Game Add a new endpoint to Entitlements that will allow devs to pass in the game id. The endpoint will return data on active, completed or upcoming drops. The data is already available on the Twitch site on the drops campaign page https://www.twitch.tv/drops/campaigns.
Having this data would be useful to use on fan made websites so that visitors can get reminders of available drops.

[Website Docs] Provide a link to the `channel.update` event for the `stream-change` trigger Just a minor suggestion, but in the list of events you can trigger, it is not immediately obvious that the
stream-changeevent is what is needed to fire achannel.changeevent. The vast majority of the other triggerable events have their corresponding events linked in the description and for consistency (and for newer users) it makes sense to also have a link there.1 vote -
Unclear extensions documentation A few of the elements on the extensions documentation (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/extensions/reference/) are very confusing, especially in the Bits section. For example:
in getProducts, it looks like
amountandtypeare fields directly in the product object, when they are in fact part of thecostobject within it (the Cost type is not defined anywhere else)in window.Twitch.ext.bits.onTransactionComplete, the
productfield of theTransactionObjectis said to be a string, but its description says "If set to true, will contain “inDevelopment”. Otherwise it return blank". How can it be set to true if it is a string? Also, from…

More info needed for websocket dev server You've explained how to connect, but not how (or if) I should subscribe to events from the dev server. You should include a full example with the steps necessary to connect to the dev server, subscribe to it (if necessary), and send an event to test with.

Improvements on Teamfunctions I would like to see a better handling of teams inside of the api.
The following functions i would like to see.- adding and removing teammembers
- query who is currently online of the team
- subscribe (eventsub) to get notifications when a team member goes online or offline
I think query and subscribe is needed cause sometimes you just need the current state for example to implement a reply in an 3rd party tool who can be raided and raise this way the interaction between team members. Subscription based is good if you for example want to let discord post informations…

Allow adding single character blocked terms via the API Twitch's UI allows you to add terms that have only a single character to them. This is good because it allows us to block some characters that are usually used on ascii copy pastes (like "⣿", for example).
Unfortunately, the API imposes a limit of a minimum of 2 characters per blocked term, as seen on the docs:
"The word or phrase to block from being used in the broadcaster’s chat room. The term must contain a minimum of 2 characters and may contain up to a maximum of 500 characters."
This creates a weird behaviour where users can add…
