  1. When I'm building an extension. I use a custom server to help simulate the Twitch Hosted test environment.

To that end it would be useful for me to automatically fetch the new CSP fields from the API

The Endpoint https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-extensions Get Extensions currently provides a wealth of information about an Extension, including what things are available and enabled and which slots the extension can exist within.

With the Dashboard deployment to allow entry of the new CSP fields. This endpoint should be updated to include the CSP data.

Then I can auto collect the changes into my local test rig…

  3. The new prediction/polls APIs are very welcome, but it would be useful to know who started/locked/ended a prediction.

Maybe to display info to chatters who to talk to about the rules of the current prediction or maybe to log potential abuse of predictions.

  4. Add a 'UseChannelPoints' endpoint similar to the 'UseBits' endpoint that allows us to let the user dynamically consume channel points on the go without having to create rewards. This would allow us to be much more flexible with channel points and create experiences that make full use of the points. We can define the amount of channel points being consumed similar to the product definition for bits, the user confirms the channel points usage and we get a TransactionReceipt for it that we can send to our EBS.

  5. So a developer can ask the api for just bits reward tier emotes or the "regular" sub emotes

    This applies to both

    • Get Channel Emotes
    • Get Emote Set

  6. Rather than having to get all clips from a created time frame window.

It would be nicer to be able to get all clips from a given video ID. Both from a performance perspective and ease of use perspective.

It's then easier for editors to collate clips from a given stream for highlight compilation creation

  7. A video is

    • stream archive
    • uploaded vod
    • highlight

basically anything that is not a clip, and can be returned with a call of

    https://api.twitch.tv/helix/videos?user_id=channelID&type=all

    Please provide topics for

    • video created
    • video deleted
    • video published
    • video unpublished
    • video updated

Updated would catch title changes, thumbnail changes, description changes.

  8. If is possible for a user to demod themselfs.
And it's possible that a user can be modded by someone whom is not the broadcaster (in super rare cases)

Please add this information to the Mod add/remove topic.
It's handy for tracking a "oh why is this person not a mod suddenly" as the broadcaster.

  9. In subscription based events, add fields with the current number of subscribers and how many sub points the broadcaster currently has.
Since there is still no way to get these numbers except of iterating over the full subscriber list (which costs lots of requests on bigger channels) this would be an awesome addition to subscribe/unsubscribe/sub expired-events.

Alternative: Subscriber count/Sub points change events. But that probably would be too many events on busy channels.

  10. Would be nice to if the Twitch service over at IFTTT had the channel title as an ingredient to be used.

This would enable a huge range of services to utilize the channel title for marketing purposes.

Zapier has this, but not IFTTT.

  11. I have embedded my Twitch channel on my website as a non-interactive iframe in my side panel.

    Example:
    https://imgur.com/a/v1wc8ri

However, there is so much text there which clutters the UI.

By having my stream title there from when I was online does not add any value. It certainly does not promote my channel.

I would much more prefer if I could just have the bare minimum there and I can show my own offline-image.

    Example:
    https://imgur.com/a/v1wc8ri

It would be nice if we had a new query parameter option for embedding channels, which could remove any promotion texts or videos /…

  12. Please provide an API and/or webhook/event sub

That provides information about if a VOD/clip/other content is muted

We will need the start/end time slots for each muting on the content

  13. So it seems that when a user is banned or timed out, extensions unload/are unavailable to those users.

    This is not documented.

    It should be documented somewhere

  14. The channel.subscription events are very lackluster. Aside from checking if it’s a gift, and what tier it was there isn’t much useful data here. Any chance we could see something like months total, moths streak, or the tier? I know this data is there in the subscriptions API call, just curious as to why it hasn’t been included in this release of the EventSub system. Seems like a miss there

The channel.ban/channel.unban events could/should be merged. Just smash em into one topic and include a tag: “isBanned” as a boolean. Seems silly to have them separate, in my opinion.

    Loving…

  15. When you have an application that uses channel points quite a lot and also reacts to them and does things, the chat is spammed with the redemption notifications which can negatively affect the chat experience.

I suggest adding a flag to custom redemptions that prevents the chat notification from being sent.

  16. With the helix oAuth requirements

It is often a problem for the less experienced developer to get started, as they don't understand certain rules and limitations around the API.

The less experienced developer may then choose to generate and leak their client secret, or app access tokens on their "front end only" websites in error.

So I propose that if the token is identified as App Access/Client Credentials, Twitch adds "CORS Headers" to block the request

Consider also CORS headers to the token fetching endpoints for App Access generation as well?

  17. Please extend the error message of the start commercial API to be more useful

    Current response is

    { error: 'Bad Request',
    status: 400,
    message: 'channel for id "SOMEID" has recently ran a commercial' }

It should return the retry_after remaining value

  18. I would love an option that mimics the team page's embed, that it shows the top streamer, or even a random active streamer from the team. So you can just embed one object, and Twitch will do the logic to show whoever is currently live.

  19. The Get Videos API presents the duration as a string, example: "3h8m33s"

Please add an additional key of "duration_seconds" of the time of the video in seconds.

  20. As it stands currently today, whether you are building a large scale bot to connect to multiple channels, that is always on (think Streamlabs, StreamElements, etc), or a small bot specific for your channel, or perhaps somewhere in between, the only supported way to connect is via the channel name, which is tied directly to the Twitch username.

The problem that is faced is when one of those connected channel's broadcaster decide to change their username, thus changing the channel name as well, since now what the bot is listening for data on is non-existent. The way this is managed…
