I am in firm support of the OP's post here. I am already unhappy to know that the US armed forces avertise on Twitch, but ICE is just a bridge too far. Please either stop showing ads for ICE and organizations like it, or give creators tools (like the ones listed in the original post) to not air ads like that on their streams.

I've been streaming on Twitch for close to five years, while being a partner for almost four years.

While the platform has made some steps forward towards giving us better control over ads for timing them, we still cannot control the ad content that is shown. I've been a featured LGBT+ creator for several years running and I've raised tens of thousands of dollars for charities, and something I always worry about is what ads my community is being served. How do I know my community isn't seeing ads that are propaganda or recruiting for places like ICE? I do not want to be associated with these, even by proxy.

Please consider:
1. Removing these kinds of ads off the platform and refusing to run these kinds of ads across the platform
2. Giving creators categories of ads that they can select that they would like run on their channel so they have better control in the future over anything remotely like this. Even if this means potential less ads are available overall to run to our communities, I feel like many creators would be fine accepting less ad revenue in exchange for not running political ads or anything that potentially may be harmful to our communities.
3. Give streamers a list of advertisements that played during their streams in the stream summary, so they have an idea of what content was being served to the community. Even just the company name and ad title would be fine. I'd like to know what my community sees.

Ideally, I'd like all three of these, but the second point is probably the most important to give us more control over ads.

You guys can pick and choose what ads to run. You don't have to run anything from any fascist organization.

Should you guys decide to ignore this complaint, then expect to see an extreme amount of reports about those ads. Nobody wants to see these chowder-brained ICE idiots. You will see ad reports about them until your ticket servers get overloaded. You will not see any peace until the ads are taken down, and everyone will report them until they stop seeing them.

So, do yourselves a favor, and listen to the complaints in this post. Do not allow ICE to do any advertisements.

This shouldn't even be an optout. Instead it should at minimum be an *opt-in*, ideally not on the platform whatsoever.

This is disgusting. Twitch shouldn't even show ads supporting this government. No streamer wants their community to see these ads. Shame on twitch for allowing these ads to show on their platform.

ICE is an abominable organization dragging civilians to concentration camps and we will not be complicit with them in Any Way, remove the ads from the platform or allow us to opt out.

I do not want ICE ads on my stream. ICE is traumatizing families and disappearing them. I would prefer the ability to pick which ads run on my streams.

This is a line to draw on this platform. We do not support the fascist government and do not want their recruitment ads on our screens or our viewers screens. Period.

The ability to opt out of the ads should be the absolute minimum, ICE recruitment ads shouldn't be on the platform period.

I would argue that ICE and military recruitment should be classified as Political Ads, which Twitch already doesn't allow. If they aren't classified as political then something is wrong.

This is blatently and utterly disgusting and should be immediately thrown out as a possibility. I dont want my streams to ever associate with this disgusting organization and shame on Twitch for even allowing this. This is a blatent overreach on ICE's end and this will absolutely harm Twitch.

Some viewers are already threatening to unsub from streamers who show these ads.
Advertisers seemingly have the ability to control which channels or categories they appear on, so why don't channels have the ability to not platform ads that don't align with their values?

This is incredibly disturbing. Twitch should not be platforming government recruitment ads period but especially for agencies known for abducting citizens and terrorizing immigrant communities. I’m vehemently opposed to helping fascist institutions grow and Twitch should be too. This isn’t just a moral issue, it’s a community safety issue

I definitely wouldn't want my stream to be associated with ICE. This is horrible! I also second what FionaDeer said, "If advertisers can object to what content their ads are shown on, we should be able to object to the content the ads shown on our content contain".

Insane that Twitch would even allow ICE ads on the platform.

ICE are domestic terrorists and do not deserve advertising that actively encourages the harming of many individuals.

I'm all for ads about wizards and ice! Please, let me become a mage; teach me how to freeze my enemies!

But ads about Grand Wizards and ICE? Nnnnnnnnnnno. Get that out of my safe space. There's nothing magical about cold hearts and making broken families.

Running ads to recruit for an agency harming the very people in the community I foster on Twitch is morally repugnant. Exclude ICE ads from Twitch.
