ICE
Creators On Twitch should be Able to Opt-Out of ICE Recruitment Ads.
Many of our communities are comprised of people actively being harmed by ICE Policies and Actions Under Trump. There are already creators saying they'll leave Twitch, or use Ad-Blockers More which will harm the platform as a whole (both in revenue and viewership).
This principle should also apply to Military, or any Government Recruitment; saying this as a Military Veteran myself, with members of my community also being veterans.
I Feel We should be allowed to deny Advertisements for ICE, who are committing violent extra-judicial and unconstitutional actions against US Citizens and Legal Immigrants in America.
We should have the right to refuse government recruitment advertisements on our content, as an citizens with a right to free speech, and to protest actions taken by government bodies.
Hi @Reneta_Scian. We appreciate you raising this concern. Claims that ICE runs ads on Twitch are untrue, and no one has approached us to run ads. There are no plans for any advertising campaigns for ICE.

TIL there's already a site trying to become the "BlueSky of streaming". If things get bad enough on Twitch, there is an option waiting in the wings other than YT, Kick, or Rumble.
Please choose wisely, Twitch.

Absolutely. If they aren't willing to show their faces in public, they shouldn't be showing their faces on here.

Can we not? There are significant security concerns and advertising direct harm to viewers should not be the way on twitch.

This ain't it. I stream on Twitch and have people in minority groups in my chats. I do NOT want them to feel unsafe because of ads I cannot control.

Advertising for ICE, military recruitments, and other ads that directly harm people and movements we, the streamers and even twitch themselves care about should not be permitted on twitch. How we can have minority unity guilds and front page shelves on a platform with a seemingly social point of view and also allow these ads is beyond me. **** that.

If they start showing ICE recruitment advertisements I will quit streaming on twitch. **** I don't want any political or religious ad's at all on my channel. I've made it clear where I stand on both of those multiple times when I've been live.
ICE can *** right off into the distance and never show their ugly rotten to the core ever again. Disband ICE, save the people they've taken away and don't let them take anyone else.

Given ICE's track record, ICE advertisements are directly against Twitch's terms of service - specifically the "Hateful Conduct" and "Violence and Threats" sections.
https://safety.twitch.tv/s/article/Community-GuidelinesI would appreciate if effective thugs were not being promoted through my channel. They make me and my communities feel unsafe, whether or not they are being targeted for what amount to protected characteristics. If I have to, I will take measures to aid my chat members in avoiding these.
In fact, I encourage others to report the advertisements as inappropriate if they see them. There should be an option in the Twitch player. (Gear icon -> Report Playback Issue -> "Advertisement is offensive or inappropriate.")
Combined with gutting features (VOD archives), using genAI emotes & category thumbnails, and not providing any response to user feedback, I am beginning to have serious doubts about Twitch as a platform. Their anti-user actions - and lack of responses - are becoming increasingly unacceptable.

Unbelievable to me that there are only 500 votes on this right now. This should have a million

I am scottish, and not only do i not want horrific, disgusting ICE content on my streams via my branding - i dont even want any political ads. Horrific. Do better.

This is disgusting that this sort of thing is allowed on Twitch. Along with them marketing gambling to children with the ads they run.
A very good argument to move to YouTube.

I've been a Turbo subscriber for a while so I wasn't aware of this until a friend pointed it out to me. I have cancelled my Turbo subscription as a result. Find better advertisers, or better yet, build an ad product that actually provides value to someone other than these trash bags.

People should have control over the ads they are show. Especially when the ads belong to organizations they don't support such as ICE.

i would love greater control over the ads that can play on my streams, even if it means less revenue.

I can't understand why the american gestapo is even allowed to advertise, and on the platforms that they aim to kidnap and put in a death camp no less. It's absolutely vile.

I believe that we, as creators, should be given the choice of what genre or category of ads we choose to show our audiences. We aren't happy with ICE being in advertisements; Twitch bans political content but they're willing to run political ads?? Enough is enough, even if there may be a low amount of advertising. I do not condone what has been advertised outside of my control, and I want the chance to pick ads based on my viewers' needs and interests.

Being able to opt out of advertising topics is long overdue.
To be quite honest, I would like to opt my channel out of any advertisement from any government, both US and foreign. Similarly I would want to opt out of any religious advertisement, Christian or otherwise.
Even a limited opt out of 1 to 3 categories would be a huge improvement.
We are required to label our political content, why can’t Twitch’s ad partners do the same?
