Creators On Twitch should be Able to Opt-Out of ICE Recruitment Ads.

Many of our communities are comprised of people actively being harmed by ICE Policies and Actions Under Trump. There are already creators saying they'll leave Twitch, or use Ad-Blockers More which will harm the platform as a whole (both in revenue and viewership).

This principle should also apply to Military, or any Government Recruitment; saying this as a Military Veteran myself, with members of my community also being veterans.

I Feel We should be allowed to deny Advertisements for ICE, who are committing violent extra-judicial and unconstitutional actions against US Citizens and Legal Immigrants in America.

We should have the right to refuse government recruitment advertisements on our content, as an citizens with a right to free speech, and to protest actions taken by government bodies.

Hi @Reneta_Scian. We appreciate you raising this concern. Claims that ICE runs ads on Twitch are untrue, and no one has approached us to run ads. There are no plans for any advertising campaigns for ICE.

    We create prime placement for advertising, and the advertisers know that. If we performers can't trust what ads are playing around us while we are performing then our relationship with this platform that we love dramatically changes. Twitch does not need low-hanging fascist money with fun and exciting performing talent like us. Twitch has full control to serve higher quality advertisement, and the better ads you serve the more money you make. If performers have control over served ads, then our relationship is stronger and ads are served better instead of it just being an algorithmic guess.

    Fully agree with this. Further, ICE is essentially a hate group at this point and should not have their propaganda allowed on Twitch at all.

    Agree to this. For a platform with such a variety of streamers and viewers, advertising fascist bigotry is unacceptable.

    Considering ICE is, for all intents and purposes, a hate group - government sanction be damned, their content should count as a violation of Twitch TOS.

    Absolutely. ICE are an engine of harm, pure and simple. If an unaccountable goonsquad are allowed to advertise and recruit on here, then having anything to do with Twitch as a streamer or even a viewer is going to be untenable for millions of people, and rightly so.

    We should be able to opt out of any ad partners we want, to be honest. Twitch should not get to decide what our channels show our viewers.

    Twitch already runs ads and gives me nothing for it. I'm not gonna stand for them running ICE ads on my channel on top of that
