Designated category for Creative Writing and related content
Ranging from writing and discussing novels, to poetry, scripts, comics, article editing, tabletop campaign planning, world creation, etc. There are a wide array of people doing various forms of creative writing on twitch, (Counted 53 channels so far, still working on finding more) and often it's hard to decide between "Creative" "Art" or "Just Chatting". Currently all we have to search for similar content is the "Writing" tag, which some of the broader definitions are hesitant to use, and is also used by people writing computer code, which is honestly a very different type of content despite it's visual similarities.
A category for this would seriously help us to find content and be found by the wider community of storytelling or wordsmithing fans that use twitch, as well as make it easier for twitches algorithm to identify what we watch. (I am often recommended visual art streams because I watch a lot of writers that use the art category, but never recommended any writing channels, and others I have spoken to experience the same)

I am always sad when I have trouble finding writing streams and I have only found then by sheer luck or accident! Twitch isn’t just for gaming and the other creative streams are easier to find so writing should be as well. We all need a place to find our people and this would really help writers find each other.

The big issue with having not a separate category is that we kinda feel homeless. We don't have OUR place, so we join categories with communities that aren't interested in what we're doing. For others that want to find us, have to go on a whole quest to find us. It would be such a big help for our community to have our own category, so that we can reach the intended audience and grow the community.

This would be awesome! I'm constantly hearing people on other social media sites when I share I'm going live for a poetry reading or writing workshop that they never knew they could use Twitch for writing! Sharing on other platforms is one of the only ways I've been able to find other writers and get audience members here, but I know the audience exists. They just can't find me!

Having a Writing category on Twitch would be so helpful! I mainly do creative writing/storytelling streams and struggle with which category to choose each time. Know a lot who are in the same boat. If Twitch could add this, would make me love and use the platform all the more!

I love this! I've only recently started writing on stream but I love the idea of having a writing category to help expand the community.

Live writing is a thing. It would be great to be able to use a writing category to say "Hey - this stream is about the process of writing/storytelling or the practice of those arts."

This really needs to change, up until last night I honestly thought I was the only writer on Twitch since they're so hard to find!

Yes please! Writing is an educational, creative and collaborative process! We need to have a space to connect and share without getting buried under the more visual-arts/gaming categories. I like the idea of Writing/Storytelling too. For now I'll use the hashtag #TwitchWriters until they make a decision.

Help us create a proper home for writing on Twitch. There's a category for almost everything else!

I've been streaming writing off an on for a year or so on Twitch and it would be cool to have a category for it since I also stream art, that way I can more easily let viewers know what I'm streaming each day.

I've literally had people ask me "I saw you using #TwitchWriters. Is it okay if I use it too?" There is a real interest in writers having a category for this form of art. Writing was once solely an introverted art. Now writers across the globe have a place to share thoughts, ideas, and understanding company. We who have been using Twitch for years understand what people are looking for when they go under "Art" or "Makers and Crafts" or "Just chatting". It's not what the Twitch Writers provide. We have a unique community that is welcoming to everyone from novel authors to fanfiction beginners. Writing is definitely worthy of its own category. Just wait until you see the influx of people making their home on Twitch every November for National Novel Writing Month!!

My community and I have found a niche on Twitch—a way to simultaneously celebrate their creativity in real time, and to make writing a less lonely preoccupation.
Together, we prove there's an interest in this kind of content. If Twitch can open the door to "art" and "chatting", why not "writing" as well? I can't see how it would hurt the platform. It'd just make it easier for writers to access their target niche.
Twitch, please consider this addition. It'd help Twitch to be more than a back-up platform for us writers with followings on other sites—we could actually start to get some attention from users native to the site.

While many of us who are writing on Twitch are having to use the Art category. When people come to that category, the viewers are expecting to see drawing, painting, sculpting, etc. instead of seeing the written word.
Having a correct category will not only help writers find each other, but also help those of us as writers with drawing non-writers to our streams.

I maintain a quiet calligraphy stream to showcase and teach. It would be nice to have a category for writing or discussion.

I'm converting from mostly gaming to pretty much one day a week for gaming and the rest for writing. I've found my voice on Twitch and I'd like to see it heard. It's hard when there's no specific category for writing. I don't just do the podcast style. I'm working hard to create a cohesive community and if we can make it easier for writers to connect here, with a proper category instead of tags that can easily fall off or be overlooked, the writing community can thrive here.

Seriously, writing streams are a thing! I do this every Saturday! It's one of my more popular events! Seriously; we need this because getting lumped in with Talk shows or Just Chatting makes no sense.
