Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.
Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.
Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

Okay but truly its about to be a year in a few months since ya'll commented about looking at all the comments and yall still haven't simply added a tag, but pop off I guess. Its always hard finding Trans streamers to support and I know the Trans tag will connect others to them. Like its not that hard.

If you can change the /me command when nobody asked you to, you can do something we've been begging you for for years. Just do it. Literally just do it.

It's been two years since we asked for this. It was a year ago that you said you weren't ignoring us. Could you please take like... two minutes out of your day to do something we've been waiting for for two YEARS? What feedback are you waiting for? Everyone except transphobes wants this. Are you going to listen to them or us?

How much time will it take for you all to grow common sense, Twitch? You've acted on requests opened in the past weeks with less than 100 votes but won't do ANYTHING about a request for a transgender tag? This is insanity. Add the tag.

It's not that hard. You literally just make a tag for Trans men and women so the world can see that they are valid, they are wonderful and they matter

We absolutely need this, so many people are asking for it

Almost 10k upvotes and you still have done nothing. You're making changes no one needs, but when we DO need changes, you just turn your back on us...

How about a real-world proposal that will address these concerns? Your search algorithms already return results for videos (try searching 'transtagnow'). Supporting the argument that Twitch's tagging should reflect content rather than personality, and understanding the reality that a demand for tags from any community opens the potential for accusations of preferential treatment for any other community -- even if some or most find it offensive, (QAnon anyone?), a good compromise might be to include stream titles (in real time, preferably) to a full-text search capacity, with a screen for offensive terms, at API hit for a stream title change, so that streamers can -- quite freely, with only reasonable limits -- represent their stream's community & personality in the title, and it will be searchable.

Did another live readout of comments last night (ended at 1148 comments) after you, once again, swept us under the rug during your latest live chatting segment. Is it really THAT hard to implement a tag that has been requested since 2019? I understand if whatever "alternative" you have in the works is taking a while, but the fact you've said nothing of what that is, or just given us this tag while we wait, is painting one heck of a bad picture on your side.
We were at 7,800 votes at the start of this month alone, it's now at 9,100; an increase of 1,300 in literally 30 days! What more can we say at this point? Give us this, please! x

The fact y'all don't have this, or anything STILL goes to show how little you actually care about Trans Creators and their content. Whenever I log in, the "Recommended" channels are always creators, I have no interest in. Allow this tag, y'all can create tags very easily, and you've shown that by the fact you're always adding new tags.
The fact you wont allow a Trans Tag, literally is nothing more than your own bigotry.
ETA: YALL WE HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR THIS SINCE ATLEAST 2019 THE FACT YOU STALL AND REPLY ONCE A YEAR WITH YOUR BULLSHIT COPYPASTA, IS ABHORRENT AND A FAILURE TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE TAKEN TIME TO GIVE YOU THE THOUGHTS YOU ALLEGEDLY GIVE A DAMN ABOUT.

I see the LGBTQIA+ tag used on many streams and I believe now is the time to offer specific tags or perhaps a sub tag for these communities including the trans tag. It would help viewers connect with streamers and their communities that are more specific to their needs than a very generic tag. There are many Twitch users I'm hearing struggle to find a safe space for their specific community and a broad tag makes it even more difficult. I believe the positives in connecting trans viewers to trans streamers far outweigh the negatives.

This is ridiculous. You are a platform meant to support your consumers.... help the LGBT community support itself by finding each other!!!

Hey Twitch,
This is a pretty simple thing to give to users. A Trans tag allows people to find communities where they are welcomed and loved and comfortable. Additionally, the trans community seems to have a robust mod community to keep things safe and comfortable. By continuing to ignore this simple request by a marginalized community, you are telling them that they do not matter to you. Add a trans tag please. -

The trans community of Twitch has been repeatedly asking for a trans tag for too long!
We know that there is already an LGBTQIA+ tag, but trans people face unique struggles compared to cisgender LGB people.
Trans people also face homophobia from within the LGBTQIA+ community. Just because a streamer identifies as gay and/or says their stream is a safe place for people of all sexualities does not mean it’s a safe place for trans people.
Trans streamers and viewers deserve a tag to find and support each other! Please add a trans tag! -

Options are awesome. Plz add identity tags, like this one, so people can have options.

Just coming back here again to remind you that the trans tag needs to happen immediately. You got us all riled up about changing /me, but don’t think that made us forget about the other issues you continue to ignore. You need to make a trans tag. At this point you’re only making yourselves look worse by not adding it. I am livid that my friends have to work so hard to find each other. How many times do individual people need to say something on this before you do it? I know this is not my first comment here and it certainly won’t be my last. Do better.

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if people ditched twitch as soon as competition presents itself, ignoring the needs of part of the community isn’t acceptable
