Hey all!
Wanted to let you know that we recently updated the Teams color so that it looks more interactive and noticeable. We decided to add it to the About panel because it is more about the streamer - where it was before was more about that particular stream. Setting this to Partial Release to reflect that not all the feedback in this request was addressed due to that.

Hey all,
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

Hey guys! We really appreciate the feedback that has been brought forth in this thread and just wanted to update you a little bit on what is going on.
This change was originally made to guard against raid bot attacks. While smaller raids are currently viewable in activity feed in the dashboard, we are working on a solution that treats raids equally while guarding against abuse tactics.

We are happy to announce that we have released an update that addresses some of these points.
Channel Banned users will no longer be able to view the chat, and they will also be removed from your Chat list. There is an issue that has caused us to pause this temporarily, but we expect a fix to be out very soon – stay tuned to the Twitter thread below for the update.
Additionally, if you Block a user, they will not be able to subscribe or follow, and Blocking them will automatically unfollow them.

There are several things this change has messed up. First, I have adhd and I have literally every single one of my bot commands and timers with /me to make it easier on my brain as I skim through chat. I actually almost started crying about it on stream last night because my bot timer went off and then 2 other people did /me and you can’t tell the difference between who said what. Italics are also notoriously inaccessible to those with dyslexia or vision issues.
Second, I believe this change was made to help combat the “/me has donated...” trolls. However, I could always spot one of these trolls right away because it was always a different color than my bots. Now everyone’s text looks the same, which not only completely defeats the purpose of using /me in the first place, but I genuinely believe makes it easier for these trolls to actually make streamers think someone donated to them.
Making all /me text look the same is not the answer to anything. It has only made things worse in a multitude of ways and I urge you to reconsider this change no one asked for. What’s broken is the fact that you don’t require actual real email addresses, so people can make these throwaway accounts to troll from way too easily with literally zero consequences.
