Keep Moments
Moments is a feature that Twitch released as a Beta to a handful of creators. Whenever something cool happened in your stream, you could give out a "Moment" to those who were there to witness it. Twitch just announced they are discontinuing it as of October. I'm writing this to ask you to reconsider.
The Moment was a clip that was created when you gave the command, and allowed for some minor editing. Anyone who claimed the moment would also receive a badge, and the more moments you claimed, the more your badge evolved over time. You could even click on someone's badge to see what moments they were there for.
As a creator, I was part of the Beta for Moments. This was an INCREDIBLE tool for engaging my audience. Most of the time, the Moments were for small little silly things that happened, but it allowed for my audience members who maybe couldn't afford to sub or cheer to showcase their loyalty to the stream by having a badge that said "I'm here for all the moments." The irony of the strength of this feature was that it wasn't really for "The Moment" you were there, but for combination of all the small little moments you got to share.
Growing on Twitch is about engaging your audience and giving them reasons to come back. Moments allowed viewers who tuned in for the day the chance at "being there" for something cool. It created an opportunity for people to stick around more and watch more of my content.
Anytime something cool happened my audience would say "MOMENT?," and so much so that I made an emote for the very thing. The emote ranked #1 in both my channel and outside my channel since it's creation for me.
It's failure as a feature is rooted in
- The Beta was too limited. Not enough people who could benefit from it were given the chance to use it.
- There was not a lot of push from Twitch to help creators understand why the feature is so good.
- The feature needed more feedback to shape it into something truly special.
Imagine having the badge and also attaching an Emote slot to Certain Tiers. Imagine having more options to really edit the clips so that you could really encompass the Moment. Imagine having MORE MOMENTS to give out so you could be more free with giving them out.
The reason it was cut was "limited use by the community" and that they would strive to "Create features that bring value to streamers"
Moments IS that feature. The badge is such a cool function. You don't need to make it compete with Featured Clips, in fact just having them on the viewer's profile under the badge is enough.
Please reconsider axing this and please actually reach out for feedback to those of us who get access to these Beta Features.

The chat asking for a moment when something cool or funny happened was always very silly and I enjoyed it. I'd be sad to see moments stop being a feature.

Moments is probably the best new feature Twitch has had in a while.

Moments are one of my favorite new features you have added in quite some time, and it would be very disheartening to see you cut them.

As a viewer I love moments and I'd be sad to see them go away.

i find it infuriating that twitchs reasoning for getting rid of moments is because of limited use WHEN THEY BARELY GAVE IT TO ANYONE TO BEGIN WITH. i know so many people who wanted to try it out but couldnt because they were never given access to it.

Moments has been one of the best new additions to twitch as both a viewer and as a streamer with access to them. Taking feedback and improving Moments would be a huge boon for Twitch as a whole instead of getting rid of the feature.

Moments honestly encourage me to interact with the streamer and other viewers in chat far more. Twitch, you missed the ball on rolling it out and promoting it properly.

I often lurk in streams but Moments encourage me to chat more - the hype is too good to miss out on! Plus, I've found that I'm watching streamers in the beta longer and more often than I did before. Moments are a fun way for communities to interact with the streamer and experience hype moments together. The potential of this feature to increase engagement is phenomenal. Removing Moments will be a mistake.

Moments are the perfect way to show your loyalty to a streamer that doesn't require you to pay anything, which isn't accessible to everyone. They're so fun and engaging -- please keep them!

Keep moments and makeit available for everyone. This is an amazing and engaging feature for chat to have a snap shot to share with other. This is a "I was there when..." feature that make you want to tune in to everyone of your favorite streamers streams.

Moments is one of, if not THE best feature of Twitch chat and I, as well as my community would be heart broken to see it go.

Is removing moments a moment?
When an entire subculture has developed over if a thing is a moment or not, you know it's a good idea that increases engagement. Expand it out of beta to more streamers and let more people experience it!

As a creator, I've always wanted to have access to this feature. It's a fun and unique way to connect and enjoy amazing memories formed together. I hope Moments stay so that I can get the opportunity to share it with my community as well!

Man honestly, keep the feature. It's a ton of fun, and makes earning moments, being able to say "I WAS THERE" and then having proof a lot more engaging. It also makes people want to watch live most of all. That's a huge driver of keeping people alert and ready for whenever the next amazing moment is going to happen. Please do not remove the feature.

Being in chat for a moment feels so great, if more creators had access to them I think they would be huge for communities to bond over

I have made so many friends through bonding over moments. Losing this, losing the ultimate ice breaker, will limit people’s ability to connect. Please, don’t take that away.

Moments should definitely stay. Like why would you 86 this when you have so many people engaged in the content? It gives twitch viewers another way to feel as if they are part of the community and we all know that nerds love to collect stuff! It's a virtual collectible... I mean cmon' you don't have to be a genius to see how this can be plain addicting! Dumb move.
