Ability to hide MOD BADGE
The ability to hide the Mod Badge/ Sword from view.
This is especially important for communities that are on the smaller side where new viewers may be intimidated by the amount of mods with their badge chatting.
It also allows certain moderators to mod anonymously.
I would say if the badge is turned off, you shouldnt have the mod abilities either - but turning them on and off would be nice to have so you could show the streamer if you want to be on duty or not that day.
I have it on/off via commands and my software bot.
Great idea, it reduces the hatred directed towards those who have the role of moderator for the decisions taken
I would love the opportunity to have "incognito mod" and have chat feel relaxed if they might feel intimidated by the sword, it would also would have helped save a 10 year community imploding yesterday ( one of many reasons).
Please twitch put this into place, it not a website breaker if the mods or streamer want to show the swords
This is a brilliant idea! Think of it: you could have mods in your chat that aren't actively on mod duty, turn off their sword and just hang out.
Additionally, the wall of mod badges would be a thing of the past!
I totally agree with @SlippityPoobah
I don't see any reason to show the badge just to flex... In my opinion mods should be a classic viewer but with rights. No blame on mods decision we don't know who they are.
I agree this would be a great option. Sometimes I just want to go hang out in the chat without everyone seeing my sword. Also it would help out with preventing a mod wall.
I would definitely use this feature and I know a lot of other mods would also.
This would be great. Sometimes a chat slows down and modwalling takes over.
Allow moderators to hide their sword like how turbo users can hide their badges
