Allow Incoming Viewers To See Previous Chat Messages
I would like to have the ability to enable an option where new viewers to a stream can see previous messages posted in chat. There are times when viewers may come into a chat, but have no context, with what the streamer is discussing as they are unable to see previous messages in chat. There are also times where regular viewers may have to temporarily leave the stream, but then when they return only a little bit later, they are unable to see what was previously posted in chat. I know other streaming services, such as YouTube and Mixer, by default, allow viewers to see messages previously posted in chat when someone new joins a stream.

I like this idea too, and as somebody already wrote the addition to this idea:
IMO it could be fair enough to see the last 3 or 5 Minutes of chat to recognize the actual topic. -

At the least, it'd be useful to still see previous chat messages that you'd already seen before you reloaded the page. It would basically subvert the "/clear" mod command, but then users can already get around that by using other clients to view the chat.

I like this idea, even if it only showed the previous 5 or so minutes of chat. I even hate it when I have to refresh for some reason and I miss things.

I totally understand how this would help make the chat a better place, especially with page refreshes, or education based streams. It's not like Twitch isn't holding on to all of these messages to train a proper Amazon natural language AI-bot lolz. I wonder how far behind Googs and Tweets they are?
