Hide emote spam in chat
When watching popular channels, the chat is often a wall of emote spam not saying anything, and any 'actual' chat messages disappear too fast to read. It would be very useful to hide any messages that are just repeated emotes.

I really need this, some of the channels I watch is unreadable cause of wall of spam emotes.
I'd like to have option to completely remove messages with only emotes and/or option to strip any non-text and/or option to remove duplicates of emotes.

I think that if a message is repeated by different user it should stack with a counter that shows how many times it has been said.
The message should stay pinned to the top of the chat as long as it keeps being repeated.
And maybe have an option to choose how long it stays pinned, probably a range of 1 to 3 seconds. -

I completely agree with you. Every time I ask how to automatically hide, as a viewer, all chat messages that are *only* a single word or an emote, people tell me "close chat" as if those are the only messages that exist. I actually want to *read* the chat, my problem is that it scrolls too fast because of emote spam.
The blacklist setting of BTTV only lets me hide messages that *contain* specific emotes with or without other text, which isn't what I want at all.
