Exactly, now when I just logged in essentially every channel I follow, and watch now has phone verify. But, they refuse to accept the number I have used for nearly 20yrs.
So, I suppose they just want no business from me. I quit buying bits when they got rid of friends. I stopped buying subs when they got rid of whispers for me, because like the OP people whisper me, and I can't even respond to them, and now I can't even tell them in chat that I can't receive whispers. All I came for anymore was to see when to apply my prime sub to someone, and I am sure I won't even be able to do that soon enough. WTF Twitch???!!?
How are you this hard headed? Do you intentionally ******** on customers too see how much they can take before they walk away completely? I know if I am locked out now from pretty much even interacting with the web site, then there are many many others who have just stopped trying, or will stop interacting and supporting creators. Which is just more lost revenue.
What am I supposed to do? Now that I can't even chat on the website, you have cornered me into simply having no option but to walk away, because I know this will go unheeded.
And there is no way they would be smart enough or rational enough to moderate the security. It's not Fort Know people. Stop with all this dumb blanket changes to the website, for users that present no real suspicion all you are doing is forcing them to not give you money.
I haven't even tried to buy bits or pay for a sub, will I be blocked from that because of the phone number, or will you ridiculously accept my money and provide NO SERVICE?
If I paid for a sub I still couldn't participate in chat, so why the **** would I ever give you money ever again. You guys are just so ridiculous.
And I am sure this is completely unnoticed and unacted upon, because the bottom line is always get money,
run ads, get money, run ads, run more ad, run more ad, break into mid-word response, run ad, block user from participating run 4 ads.
Ask user to buy a sub that will fail because no phone number, run ads, make support a 1000 question T/F quiz with no correct answers, run 72 ads.
Reply to support ticket 6 months later, we closed this because we've not heard from you on the 12 page incident report you need to fill out. So we can begin to process your concept, run 16hr ad block, ask user to sub to a channel, make it a window that can't be dismissed w/o a verified phone number.
Charge user for using support, run ad block, run ad block, run ad block, send a how did we do in support questionnaire, spam email with 37 ad letters.
Sell email to anyone paying, run ad block, say support is on hiatus, run back to back drive in movie ad blocks.
Create 273 part FAQ on verifying phone numbers, 270 step by step explainers to getting your number denied by support. Present in writing web site issues, show ad about using feedback page, roll ads, deny submission without verified phone number, disallow page navigation w/o verified phone #, roll ad block. Ad infinitum. I think you get how this works. -

Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads!
These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown.

Continues to get worse. Hundreds of responses and requests to help have gone utterly ignored. That is because the people getting paid do not care how you feel or what you think. They are rich they don't use the service. They have no clue what it is, but a dividend check.

They do not care, nothing at all about what goes on concerns them. Only thing that concerns them is the dividend check, and any other money they can gouge from people.

it is a blatant grab at money for a captive audience. They saw that those folks stayed Watched who they liked. And the **** for profits grew to irresistible. Twitch likely makes huge profits with great margins. But billions of money units are not enough for some people, they insist on endangering the world with wanton greed. Those who seek those fortunes should be considered a threat to society and humanity.

They haven't done jack but increase the number and frequency of ads. They do not care one iota about you, your feelings, or anything else. But making more money.

A majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

15 pages of same response, for years. Twitch could care less, and makes plenty of money. It is just entirely greed.
They haven't fixed nor tried, they been hard at work figuring out how delete friends. This site just gets worse and worse.iamSamoth

I am glad they added it, I had no idea what the page was, or that it was twitch.
I actually scrolled down to find an 'about' link. But it's only in the pop-out menu button I think. But I used this just today. Good suggestion!
