Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads!
These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown.

Stream Display Ads do not replace any other type of ads, they're only in addition to any of your other ads that you already have, therefore they absolutely are *not* less disruptive, they are, automatically, only more disruptive since they only add onto the volume of disruption that happens. Extremely misleading, very disappointed in how you handled this

This response isn't worth anything, SDAs don't replace any of the other ads, the streamer has no control over them, they don't turn off pre-rolls and if you have SDAs on and an automatic stream schedule, the scheduled ads are all midrolls, SDAs are just *in addition* to all the other ads, this isn't a solution to the problem

A majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

All ads to me ignore the actual volume of the stream, if I have the stream really low, the ad will be much louder, if I have the stream maxed, the ad will be a little softer. Still needs work

There is exactly zero chance I ever run more than 3 minutes of ads in *one* break per hour. There's more chance I ditch any affiliation with Twitch and stream for zero revenue than for that to ever happen. I will not run more than one ad break per hour and it will not be longer than 3 minutes. I wouldn't do it even if you gave me 5k per month.

We have heard the feedback in this idea & its comments and reworked chat replies to reduce noise. By allowing users to reply directly to a specific message in a thread, only the user being responded to will be @'ed, rather than the user whose comment initiated the thread. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

I still think the reply feature is non-functional. Not only it still tags the original comment of the thread every time which is extremely bad, but also literally any remotely active chat renders your ability to see anyone replying past the first reply impossible whereas just tagging the person is more effective.
On mobile it’s even worse because the feature just isn’t there, it literally just looks like a normal tag on the original comment of the thread and you can’t check the thread.
I would actually raise the bar higher than allowing to disable it in my own chat, but also just prevent anyone from using the feature on any of my messages period. Either that or you make it functional on all platforms and no longer tagging the original message but rather the actual message you clicked on. It could still make a thread but it needs to be clear who’s replying to what within that thread, otherwise just don’t make a thread.

I would love to turn it off. I actually hate that it tags the original comment on every message, it even does that on mobile but mobile actually doesn't have the thread so it's just EVEN MORE confusing. A simple reply to one message with no threading would be much better imo. Now I see the pros of the thread for busier chats, so the feature can certainly still have a spot, but I still want it off of at least my channel, I think it's not worth it in its current state. I actually actively avoid using it anywhere I go even if someone used it to reply to me, because it kills the thread and keeps it not confusing.

SDAs don't help the problem in any way, they do not address the issue expressed in this request, not even 1% of it. If they were run *instead* of the disruptive ads, then yes, they would help, but that's not how they work currently, therefore the entire problem is still present and all SDAs do is increase the total ad volume
