Another unnecessary feature that takes up my screen estate without an option on user end to disable it.
Unfollowed streamers that used it, including official Twitch channel.
Put these obtrusive features onto the Discover tab instead of the main Following tab.
Let the Discover tab be the place where people go to, DISCOVER new content and features. Youtube learned this quickly enough to stick shorts in its own tab so people who want it can go there, and it works a ton better than implementing it this way on the main feed.
It's bad enough the top of the main tab is now flooded with ads, now we have to deal with these poorly thought out features too that no one asked for.Once again, every feature you implement NEEDS user end control to opt out, not just streamer side activation/controls.

Every feature implemented needs an user end option to toggle it off.
The "featured clips" was implemented in such an obtuse way that I've just unfollowed the streamers that use it.
This is a streamer specific feature, so it needs to be in streamer specific context, ie. on the streamer's channel when visiting, or in a general site wide specific tab like the "Discover" or "Browse" tab.
Not on the following tab where it takes up a massive chunk of the screen (it's larger than the live channel thumbnails) and the opposite of what the following tab is for, live channel indication. Please immediately remove/deactivate this feature as it's absolutely not being helpful and causing actual damage to streamers as they lose followers over your inept implementation.

Advertising on Twitch should not revolve around glorifying violence and fetishizing war crimes, especially in Pre-Rolls. These ads viewers see upon first entering a channel contain content from shows/games not appropriate for all ages, regardless of channel age warning.
This means Twitch is knowingly showing inappropriate content to minors as well as promoting violent content and endorsing war crimes.Twitch needs to clearly define what ads can be included in Pre-Rolls and remove/reduce these type of inappropriate ads from the new user/viewer experience.
Examples of heavily repeated Pre-Roll ads promoting violence/war crimes:
-Call of Duty Warzone
-Amazon Prime showsRusted supported this idea ·

It's been a few weeks since Twitch changed how stream quality auto changes based on whether the tab is in the current tab/window or not. This change automatically lowers the quality of streams to 480p (or lower) for streams not in the current tab, and when the stream is tabbed back into focus it does not always resume the originally selected quality.
This is affecting multiple browsers, with or without extensions, so this is seems very much a Twitch end feature to lower data use.
This change however has resulted in some issues:
-More buffering
-Streams hanging/pausing when tabbed out
-Quality not restoring when tabbed back
-Playback issues such as audio desync when the stream quality changes and latency has to catch up
-Streams in background no longer has thumbnail view in task view (windows key + tab) to simultaneously view multiple streams and is instead just a black screen video player.Overall I feel like the changes have not improved the user experience and has instead introduced more issues than it saves. It should be up to the user to open as many streams as they wish at whichever quality and maintain such experience regardless of window focus.

Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads!
These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown.

Right now stories are only viewable to people who are already following a channel.
Any further details on "who" viewed/reacted seems unnecessary and too personal (potentially abused to harass individuals who don't view/react due to being able to see the viewers).
