Log incidents on the statuspage status page
I have this revolutionary idea that will make my (our) life so much easier:
a status page on which you could log every incident that happens with the website, with a description, albeit short, a scope, and a timeframe of the issue happening and the resolution.
Yes, I am being silly, because I know Twitch has the official statuspage status page (sorry, it's confusing, statuspage is the product name, status page its usage).
I would just love it if we actually had an actual incident list on it.
So far, nothing is done consistently.
What it means for us (users, streamers, mods):
- We have to check multiple sources to see if 1. there is an incident 2. it might be resolved, and none of those sources are the official statuspage
- We don't have an actual history of the incidents, which statuspage is able to produce automatically
As a perfect exemple, many users reported a site-wide issue on Aug 23rd for at least 30 minutes. The status page remains empty. For streamers, this represents potential lost revenue/contract issues with sponsors that expected a stream at a certain time, inability to go live, and, for viewers, the impossibility to view a stream and throw money at you.
What needs to change:
- Filling out incidents reports
