Rating game Played the game? No = skip to next, Yes = rate and confirm to proceed to the next.
I don't want to search one by one the 400 games i've played. If you guys can make it personalized based on games already rated, even better.3 votes -
Dedicated Image Categorization I think that while it's great that contributers can add a label to each image, it would vastly improve the image database if there were dedicated sections/categories to put specific types of images, and therefore allow specific categories of images to be called and viewed. Some databases such as MobyGames (ex. https://www.mobygames.com/game/ps2/silent-hill-2/cover-art) and screenscraper (ex. https://www.screenscraper.fr/gameinfos.php?gameid=5441&action=onglet&zone=gameinfosmedias) have such categories, and I think that having dedicated sections to put images such as rear cover, CD labels, spines, logos and Title Screens would be an extremely important part of preserving game information, especially older physical titles. I know it's a…

Spoiler flag/warning for Storyline sections I often omit the endings of titles from the Storyline section to prevent posting spoilers, but I realize I'm not everyone. Generally I feel if people are just looking for more info on the game, why play it if you already know how it's going to turn out?
I'd love to see a section you could add or highlight sections of a plot in Storyline that might be best hiddened for new users, rather than a full block of the field.

Adding Arcade Platforms There is a variety of arcade games on IGDB, but there is no differentiation between the different arcade hardware. For example, Chunithm and maimai Finale are both on IGDB under the platform of simply "Arcade", despite Chunithm running on the Sega Nu 1.1 board, while maimai Finale runs on the Sega RingEdge 2.
While there are a lot of platforms that would have to be added should this change be made, I do believe that this change follows the mission of IGDB, as the website strives to be a collection of all relevant information for a game, and there are…
3 votesIt's an interesting data point and it might be worth having in the future. However, before adding more in-depth data we want to update our platform page and make sure that the data structure is solid. After that we think it would be worth looking into additional Arcade platforms and differences as well. Thanks!

Label Art In addition to box art, id love to see the actual game cart / disc label hosted. Actual carts themselves could be problematic as scan/photo/image quality would vary wildy, but if we could have high quality representations of the label, it could be simple to add to a clean template cartridge to display. See how screenscraper does it under the label heading for an example of what i mean: https://www.screenscraper.fr/gameinfos.php?plateforme=14&gameid=5441

Delisted Status "Date". Very happy to see Delisted added to the Status options. If possible, it would be nice to also allow for documenting the date in which a title was removed from online storefronts, similar to how Offline Status allows users to document the date online functionality was shut down.
However, even when documented, Offline Status's Date does not currently show on the standard entry page, so this probably is a double request in that case.

Abstract Theme I wasn't sure what to use for this and I think that's the point. Puzzle titles like Tetris, Pong, Breakout, and the like are very hard to define in terms of a Theme based on the choices available.
An Abstract Theme might be the best case in these situations.
3 votesHi! We talked about adding this theme, and we all agreed that it's a good idea. We just have to write clear guidelines around it. We are looking to add this as soon as possible. Thanks!

The ability to link Gamejolt with your games The ability to link a gamejolt.com page with your games since most of my games are on Gamejolt and i'd like to make categories for them
3 votesHi!
We looked into this and we thought that indeed adding Gamejolt might be a good fit. This has been added to our backlog and we’ll take a look at it when we can.
Thank you for the suggestion!

More reviews percentages Pick topics on how to review a game
example
20% gameplay
80% soundtrackdon't ask the user for a final score determine the total score based on each category
does not have to be my idea though just upvote this if you wanna see a more robust review system

A better process for notifying Twitch/IGDB about missing games Both Castlevania for the N64 and Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness are missing from the Categories menu of Twitch, but they are not missing from IGDB's site. I have spent the better part of two hours trying to figure out how to inform someone, ANYONE, of this (admittedly small) oversight and ended up here.
There has to be a better way to inform Twitch/IGDB of problems of this nature than to wander aimlessly around the Twitch help section, then give up and use the feedback forum, hoping that a relatively minor fix will be noticed by someone with the power and…
3 votesAdminIGDB (Admin, Twitch) respondedHey there!
For all things IGDB it is best to come to us directly rather than via Twitch help. Our preferred way is via Discord :)
Discord: discord.gg/igdb
Contact form: https://www.igdb.com/feedbacks/new
Twitter: https://twitter.com/IGDBcomRegarding the Twitch categories, while IGDB provides the data but what ends up there is decided by Twitch itself. In the case of Castlevania it is due to the fact Twitch is not ingesting Versions of games at this time. We are however working on expanding the data set so that they can become categories. Stay tuned!

Locally Connected Competitive Multiplayer Modes (LAN/Ad hoc/etc) The Multiplayer Modes seem to have a theme when you look over the options available in Categorization. Almost all of them include specific special cases for some form of Co-op or shared Split-Screen, but none for LAN Competitive.
The most obvious examples I can think of would be the GBA Link cables for local LANs such as the Sonic games, or the Ad-hoc/WiFi features of the PSP, 3DS and others where these aren't Co-op modes or Split Screen, but Linked and Competitive.

Localize game poster art Like Steam offers, there should be localized posters. Chinese posters, for example, will often have a completely different name and/or different brand logo.

Removing Regional Divisions as Publishers There are alot of titles that seem to list multiple divisions as publishing arms for each region. While this can make sense for Developers like Ubisoft Montreal or Shanghai that are responsible for the creation of the game, it makes less sense for Publishers that serve as regional PR wings.
Ex. "Sega" vs Sega of Japan, Sega of America, Sega of Europe.

Show a toggable list of mods of the in the main game page. A list of mods could be shown as toggable to not mess with the layout of the page, since some games have an extensive mod library (I'm looking at you Super Mario World and Super Mario 64).

Feature an Indie Shelf on Front Page Top 10 games, Just Chatting, new AAA game launches, and special events get enough coverage via their massive audience. One of the suggestions from creators in terms of discoverability is to stream lesser known games to lessen competition.
My suggestion is to add a shelf that compiles all directories that are sub 200 viewers into a single shelf on front page to allow visibility to lesser known titles. This could allow groupings of smaller creators to showcase games, collaborate, and be recognized without feeling the need to always play the top 10 games to reach the ceiling of viewership.

Source/Reference links (similar to Wikipedia) Often (if at all), users will enter a source or reference link in the Comments of an edit when this isn't something that can't be added to the existing Websites (news article, second Community Wiki, dev Twitter post, etc). This often gets lost or forgotten later when a new edit is added, becoming a back and forth.
If there could be a way to add something like the [#] links on datapoints to show the sources of an edit without having to look through years of changelogs. That would help greatly, both in review and transparency.

Follow specific developer/team In modern gaming Publisher, Developer, and everything in between no longer represent the sensibilities and ideas on display in a final product. The real influence on the art, is the artist.
I want for there to be some way to keep track of specific, decision making, people on development teams that make the games we all know and love. I want to follow the writing lead/team of Tyranny, I want to follow the design team/lead of Guild Wars 1, I want to assemble a list of those artists that make the pieces of media I enjoy. Through assembling this web…

Search engine thoughts/ideas Being able to ask the search engine I question about a video game. Example could be instead of searching people or game you could query a separate group called "Questions" then type "Who is the creator of pac man" or "Who did software development for ultima online" etc. Could also be carried over to IMDB. example "who played billy in billy madison"
