Unlock each emote as the level is beaten rather than the highest emote from the train.
Right now if you complete a level 100 Hype Train you will only get KappaInfinite instead of getting BleedPurpleHD, HeyHeyGuys, and PogChomp as well. This leads viewers to feel like they are ripped off because this generally isn't how game progression works.
When we beat a level we expect a reward from that level to be unlocked. We do not expect that reward to be overwritten by a higher level forcing us to have to do it again to unlock the lower tier reward. This is a normal tenet of game design and should apply to Hype Train rewards as well.

I fully agree with PS. Getting limited to the top award is kinda booty. I can’t think of any other system that runs the same way. We gave Twitch 100’s of thousands of dollars and they couldn’t give us all the emote levels? I also submitted a ticket stating that I didn’t receive all the emotes and was told they will be added over time due to the influx of people who were apart of it. I expect all my emotes and I know I’m not alone in this. Please do right by the community. Especially if you want to stay afloat in the streaming market. Cause I guarantee more people will leave the platform cause we aren’t given what we deserve

Current system is like working hard and getting a bonus for reaching stretch milestones, only to then be told you aren't going to get your regular pay because of your hard work.

When participating in hype trains the reward of reaching the checkpoints is part of the fun and excitement of these events. If you aren't getting these, even if they're just emotes, it's like taking the balloons away from a party. Making global emotes guaranteed when progressing through a large hype train, which not every twitch viewer can participate in all the time, is an appreciated incentive even if it isn't a community breaker. I believe it should be a representation of Twitch thanking the viewers for supporting the streamers who already give their communities so much of their time and attention.

When it comes to Hype Trains, it is a level based system. Anything that is level based, when you achieve that level, you achieve the perks of that level. When you achieve the next level, you keep the previous unlocked perks along with the newly unlocked perks.
Hype train levels in essence is a way to help bring the community together to achieve Hype train levels, giving the streamer support financially along with twitch. The emotes are secondary to that regard, even though emotes are a major reason to sub to a channel.
Tier based subs, you unlock that tier of emotes, along with all the other subs (i.e. You sub at T2, you unlock T1 and T2 emotes, with T3 unlocking all of them.)
The idea should be the same for when it comes to Hype Trains. As the level advances and that tier is unlocked, the perks should stay unlocked when you hit the next tier.
If the system stays as "only 1 emote" when certain levels get hit, the people that wants a specific emote will stop supporting. When it comes that streamer, if they are a bigger streamer, they won't get that support due to the fact everyone is wanting a specific emote, in turn disvaluating the financial an comraderie that comes with Hype Trains.

It appears to be a great idea, as a "game progression" style of rewards would allow the viewers to interact more frequently.

Not only that, all the viewers and streamers taking part in the hype train put forward every last bit of effort and means that anyone with a lower record on the train gets, and that work is now simply not rewarded.
If a streamer decides to be meticulous, and takes a hype train to a certain level to give their viewers a particular lower-tier reward, that is under the current system nigh-on impossible. In PirateSoftware's case, the API was a consistent 6 levels behind, the community, especially at the lower levels, is well capable of accidentally overshooting for example pogchomp, it is also relatively inexpensive for griefers to do so on purpose. And yes, Griefers have and will continue to put in a bit of coin 'for the lulz'. That is not a negligible scenario.
Those lower-tier emotes are as good as paid for, as well as earned through effort. Not only that: I stepped into the hype train late, and gained all the lower tier emotes near immediately, the system was very much built to hand those emotes out.
This "bug" feels more like a "gap in specification" (or an alteration of specification) considering how late it comes up after a perfectly functioning system.

I understand that this decision is likely made for a technical reason rather than a ideological one. However it creates this weird situation where some people will want a hype train to end earlier in order to get the emote that they want if the higher tiers are unappealing to them. It also retroactively makes those who participated in a huge hype train feel as if they missed out even though they showed up for what should be a big event.

I was at the impression that the proposed function is how it always worked. Hearing that only top level emote is being distributed actually discourages me from participating. Go big or go home.

If you reach level 100, it is counter intuitive to only receive the level 100 emote. Does Twitch want people to aim for lower levels of a hype train because people already have the level 100 emote? Don't you like money?

I could understand not giving an emote from every single level of the hype train, but it takes A LOT to get a really high level hype train, so if you've got people like "well I want the hype train to end at this level so I can get that emote" you're not going to get the support you need! Besides if you want more incentives for people to participate in hype trains then just add new emotes!
Here's an idea, you could release new waves of hype train emotes after a certain number of people collectively unlock a certain number of hype train emotes, that way even low level hype trains can contribute to the unlocking of new emotes for everyone, encouraging people to start hype trains even if their favorite streamer is small!

The idea that you can hit a target and then surpass it only to lose the reward for the previous target seems completely backwards. Hopefully Twitch will recognize this and adapt accordingly.

Seems counter intuitive to not give all emotes completed. It does not encourage the community to strive for more emotes it is defeating. There should be no point in stopping a HYPE train once it hits a certain level because people do not have the emote associated with that level. Overall this will damage the entire hype train system by removing the hype from it. The entire point is to push it to the moon and then see our shinnies once complete. The point is not to achieve a level and hope the community STOPS so that you get an emote. I'm sorry twitch but this one just doesn't make any sense to me. If you reach max level you should get all emotes. This situation has created a ton of distrust in Twitch as some people have 3 emotes some have 5 some have none. There is no transparency here on the platform or via Twitch support. Many have been told to just wait, others have been told they will only receive one emote, while others have been told they will receive none. I understand that different CS reps are handling this entire situation but we are all being told something different. I believe an official announcement regarding the WORLD RECORD Hype train, its rewards, and Twitch's plan forward on how to distribute these rewards is needed at this point. Otherwise there will be more CS tickets, more user voices, and most importantly more animosity toward Twitch.

Like Thor has already conveyed, to participate in a hype train (let alone a record breaking hypetrain that resulted in an entirely new emote because of it) and NOT get all the emotes for each level you've surpassed, feels bad. It feels like a rip off, especially if the goal is to incentivise hype trains and reaching for new goals for the chat and creators, especially for the majority of communities on twitch which are much smaller, and thus requires more effort and expense on the part of them to get these hype trains to each of these goals.
This leaves chatters feeling cheated if they go above a level for an emote they may want, and streamers in a bad position when it seems like they are now incentivised to get multiple different hype trains that reach each of these levels, it makes it feel like a cash grab, and leaves communities feeling like this thing that should be a great achievement is now cheapened and penalizing.
Communities and people should never be penalized for going above and beyond in their support, nor should they be made to feel like the system is set up to scam them or squeeze them for more money just to get emotes you technically already earned.

I can see no benefits for either Twitch or the Twitch users to limit the reward to one per train. The user gets frustrated when the reward is not what would naturally be expected. This does not encourage the user to participate further to gain all the available rewards from separate hype trains. It's just sours the users attitude toward the reward. Some will become apathetic to the reward, and decide the reward was not what they participated for. Others will be unmotivated to participate at all because that feel cheated and do not wish to have what feels like a deserved reward held back again. Very few people will seek out hype trains to gain missing reward, therefore they is no real reason to hold them from being distributed as the level is meet.
If you really want to held the locked enjoys *******, and make it one per train, at least don't make it repeated reward (no reward) for two separate same level hype trains. I still do not think this would create a positive feeling among users that would truly motivate them to want to participate, which is counter to the whole concept of a hype train.

To hit level 100 we gifted over 50,000 subs and over 8,000,000 bits to reach hype train level 100 if we had to stop each and every level it would be WAY WAY to high of a cost for Any community to reach to get all the emotes

As a current Amazonian, and an avid user of Twitch, I would agree wholeheartedly with PirateSoftware's comments. As an Amazonian, we are encouraged to show the highest levels of Customer Obsession, Earn Trust, and Deliver Results. As a company that provides a global platform, Customer Obsession should be your highest priority, by making the changes PirateSoftware suggested, you are fulfilling the other leadership principles mentioned above, and others not listed. PirateSoftware's request is fair and reasonable. As someone who participated in the HypeTrain, I find it rather disheartening to not be able to show off the spoils of being a supporter of the record breaking HypeTrain. I didn't participate in the HypeTrain for the emotes, but to support a former Amazonian, and a wonderful content creator.

I think the official Twitch hype train guide is misleading. The way it currently is, it states in a note "Above Level 5, only 1 emote is available per level reward range." This makes me think "Ok, I get 1 emote per level reward, there's only 1 emote per level range, I get that emote". Stating that "Participating viewers can earn 1 emote per Hype Train." at the beginning gets lost when someone's scrolling through the information. The restrictions should be reiterated in the Notes section and have more clear divisions from each section. (Seriously, a single solid black line would denote a new section well enough.) With such restrictions on rewards, there needs to be far more transparency and clarity, such as a For Example, Level 90 train reward is >this singular emote< and a future hype train reward will be >this singular emote<. There also needs to be a clearly labeled dedicated search feature for hype trains, so viewers can then go into levels that look like they will end at the specific level needed for emotes. I want the cat emote from level 3, so I need to pay real money for the random chance from a pool of rewards. There should be clearer statements about the loot boxes and gacha game mechanics of the hype trains. Don't worry. I'm positive communities will still support their streamers even when they have all the emotes. We care about the streamer more than an emote. Don't punish us for supporting our favorite streamers. Don't make me regret donating to someone only to hit level 4 and no longer have the chance to get the cat emote. (You could also give the option to manually cap hype trains so they don't go over reward levels.) Restricting emotes is fine, if you're clear about it. Which I feel isn't the case at this moment. Give them the emotes and watch as they continue to support the streamer. Trust us.

It seems a bit overlooked to have something so rare happen but not earn each milestone along the way. While yes, it is just a tiny picture, but they really represent what our communities achieve.

It feels like the implementation of this only keeps twitch in mind. Many people who participated in these high, once in a lifetime trains, won’t be able to participate again.
When you beat a level in a game, it doesn’t override your previous reward, it adds to it. It
Certain users may also feel scammed when they try to participate to achieve a certain level, only to be fought by others trying to reach a higher level.
