How can we improve subscriptions?

'New roles! "Stream Manager/Administrator"' has been merged into this idea

Subscriptions: Turbo

Enable Multi-Month Subscriptions for Turbo

PROBLEM
At this time, Turbo is only available on a monthly recurring basis.

BACKGROUND
However, Subscriptions are available in month, 3 months, and 6 months renewal increments. (This phrasing is pulled directly from the Subscription panel on Twitch. Who does your copy? Anyways…)

PROBLEM PART TWO
This discordance in user experience is confusing.

ASK
Bring feature parity to Turbo.

IMPLEMENTATIONS

Full Feature Parity with Subscriptions - Turbo renewal periods would be: month, 3-month, 6-month and offer the same 10% and 15% discounts

Industry Parity - Monthly or Annual renewal, with a discount equivalent to 2 months on the annual plan ($5/month or $50/year)

PROBLEM PART THREE
Turbo has not provided users value for quite some time - and that is prior to the price increase. Many Turbo users do not benefit from VOD storage, since they do not stream. Additional global emotes are worthless. Name colours… yeah.

The price increase will lead to Turbo cancellations - the very least Twitch could do is to enable multi-month purchasing to allow users to save some money.

CLOSING COMMENTS
Directly asking users to create a UserVoice Suggestion for this issue, or any specific issue, is nothing short of asinine.

If Twitch is aware enough of a problem to voice it to the community - the community does not need to submit a UserVoice suggestion.

    年間払いで少しだけ割引をしてもらえたらぜひターボに加入したい。これは早くに御社の収入にもなるから、お互いが良い関係になると思います。

I hate watching ads but all the principal of not getting the option to sub for multiple months to get a discount Like when I Sub to my streamers so tell Twitch offer discounts for Twitch Turbo Twitch wont get my money
  • sarne1974 commented  ·   ·  Report

It would be nice to have a six month option. Why, its just a monthly reminder i should cancel this and go outside. I use Turbo for bouncing between streamers and seeing if i want to to stay; getting into an ad and then figuring out this is not for me was a pain. I will never utilize the VOD feature, this is for entertainment not work. Have never utilize the emotes you can clearly run a report to show you how useless that is.

100% agree with the closing comments since i got here from the turbo FAQ to find a suggestion to add my vote...

I would sub only if I could pay for an annual subscription with a monthly saving.

It's weird how this isn't a thing yet. Regular Twitch subs allow for multi-month subs and they even have discounts. Twitch is just leaving money on the table, not doing this.

Please add yearly subscription with discount
  • Ryyyyyylie commented  ·   ·  Report

Completely agree. I use twitch enough as a service where I would like the benefits of turbo, but no ability to prepay for a small discount is what keeps me from pulling that proverbial trigger.

I am very grateful that there reviewing there turbo subscriptions it should been like that from the beginning they were be making more money if it was Multi-Month Subscriptions

  • Nevicar commented  ·   ·  Report

This needs to happen, if you're going to raise the price of a product, you should offset the cost of that by offering more months upfront at a lower price.
  • Bawsten commented  ·   ·  Report

    Completetly agree.
Due to the current scope, price, and the single month billing without the possibility of compensation by subscribing for a longer period, it is very difficult for me to re-subscribe to Turbo every month (I always cancel monthly subscriptions directly, as there is no advantage for me here only a disadvantage, if I forget to cancel it).

More features would also be nice, like a free channel subscription or something else, to show a streamer you still support them, even though you might not be subscribed because of Turbo.

сделайте выбор ПОДПИСКУ НА ГОД, ПОЖАЛУЙСТА (ну или хотя бы на пол года..)! спасибо.
  • cibergastroman commented  ·   ·  Report

That the Turbo monthly subscription can be purchased for more months or even a year with a price advantage as other channel subscriptions do.
  • Froggydoo25 commented  ·   ·  Report

Make it so that you can buy a year long subscription to turbo for instead of 12x12 for 144, make it a round 120? I would love to watch ad free all over the site, but having another subscription auto renew monthly to keep track of, or cause of how often I hop from stream to stream subscribing to one person just doesn't work. I would like a yearly option for turbo.
  • Sassy_Owl commented  ·   ·  Report

The raising of the price for Turbo is ridiculous since we do not get anything additional for it to need a 4.00 price increase per month. If you are going to jack up the prices on Turbo, you need to offer a steep discount if multiple months are purchased at once like you can do for a sub to an individual streamer. 4 dollar increase with nothing to show for it is crazy.
  • JediMasterTS commented  ·   ·  Report

Well stated. I was hoping this had been addressed before my yearly renewal ran out, but alas it has not.

  • phallanxtty commented  ·   ·  Report

allow multiple month turbo purchase. same as a normal twitch subscription, renew every X months. i would like to have the option to pay 12 months in advance. thanks
  • KombatKronicles commented  ·   ·  Report

    Maybe also offer two plans:

Turbo Basic/Lite (as Rudtrack mentions below): Ad-free only at the old price
Turbo Plus : Ad-free, custom colors, the emotes, VOD storage at the new price.

Offer these plans with pre-paid options (with discounts) like channel subscriptions too.
  • Rudtrack commented  ·   ·  Report

Perfectly put! The only value I get from Turbo is the ad-free viewing and being able to pay annually to save some money for that one specific feature would be way better!

Ideally I would like to see a "Turbo Lite" option, similar to YouTube Premium Lite, where the only perk you get is ad-free viewing, but you also get a way lower price
