Twitch Turbo Upgrades
Turbo Streamer Features
Twitch Turbo doesn't have much use for those with Twitch Prime to subscribe too. Essentially all features (except ad-free) are available with Twitch Prime. People that have Prime have no real use to subscribe to Turbo as well. There are a few possible feature ideas that could make the $9/mo Turbo subscription price worth subscribing too. Here are just a few ideas. Not all have to be implemented, but a couple of them would be greatly appreciated.
Transcode Options
For streamers who subscribe to Twitch Turbo, one benefit that many people would be very appreciative of would be having even just one single transcode guarunteed. Many streamers would find Turbo worth subscribing too if they got a single transcode in addition to Source. For example, if they're streaming at 1080p60, a 720p60 transcode would be nice, or if they stream at 72p60, a 480p60 transcode would be super useful. Viewers with slower internet would be more likely to be able to stick around, watch, and subscribe to streamers or donate bits. With the cost of Turbo being $9/mo, in addition to having more people be able to watch streams and spend money on Subscriptions and Bits, it would be a no-brainer for Twitch to add a single-transcode option.Channel Points Boost
This would be a nice to have feature, but wouldn't be required. Twitch nerfed the boost to channel points for subscribers, which makes Tier 2 and 3 subs almost not worth subscribing too, since it would cost double or more just to get the same boost to Channel Points. Giving Turbo subscribers a global boost to channel points rates would be nice. It could be a like 1.5x boost. Then if they also subscribe to an individual channel, changing the Subscriber boost to an additional 0.5x at Tier 1 could give Twitch the income to keep the platform running, in addition to being able to get that 2x boost again.Channel Subscription
Twitch Prime gives a free channel sub once-per-month, but some countries people can't get Amazon Prime, so that leaves them unable to get the free sub per month. Giving someone a single Tier 1 subscription on Turbo as well, would get more people to subscribe to Turbo. And if they have Prime as well, Amazon still gets the money from the Amazon Prime subscription, in addition to the Turbo subscription for the cost of 2 subscriptions per month. A win-win for both Amazon and the Twitch member!
Personally, I (Kenson) do not see much of a reason to subscribe to Turbo, but if even one of these extra features was added, I'd subscribe to Turbo in addition to Twitch Prime. Personally, I'd make the most use out of an single Transcode option for my streams. I like to stream 720p60, but I have 3-4 regulars that have slower internet and they get lots of buffering and are rarely able to watch the stream for more than like 20-30 minutes at a time before their internet craps out.

I like these additional feature ideas for Turbo. I personally believe the current feature set is not worth the price (USA). Other potential ideas I would add to this list the following: the ability to use channel follower emotes across Twitch, discounted subscription prices, and/or the ability to upload videos to Twitch (non-affiliates/partners).

Bump because it's completely ridiculous that NONE of these suggestions have been implemented as perks of owning a Turbo subscription. The transcoding option ALONE would make Turbo seem like a solid deal to almost every single new streamer.

If there was a way for the affiliate/partner streamers to get a custom link (like the amazon affiliate program,) and for each user sign up you get a one-time (slightly higher than a regular sub) bonus, and a small monthly resub bonus. I think users would go for it, but only if you get the emotes set up for TURBO users.
The one thing that prevents all the heavy twitch viewers that I know in MST3K, RIFFTRAX and other small 24/7 channels is the lack of channel emotes.
I think adding an additional TURBO emotes section so that Streamers can upload custom animated and regular TURBO user only emotes would really help. This should already be a thing.
To really push the TURBO sales TWITCH needs to put a setting in the emotes panel for the Streamer to tick on/off every existing emote/tier for all TURBO users in their chat. This could be implemented so that all TURBO users can access the approved Channel emotes and the custom TURBO emotes from the emote menu pinned at the top. In every channel this section would change to that channel’s granted emotes and that channel’s custom TURBO emotes.
This is to be fair to regular subscribers so that the emotes can only be used in that channel’s chat, and not in other channels chats.
This would be a huge win-win for all. For those of us that have Ads, TURBO users count. For smaller channels you could push the TURBO subs and earn that one-time sign up bonus and a smaller re-sub bonus for every month they are a TURBO subscriber. Which is more then you get now from TURBO users which is next to nothing for non-24/7 small channels.
For the TURBO subscriber you should be able to use your free PRIME sub as a credit toward your TURBO sub, dropping your monthly TURBO fee down a buck or two, you get no commercials on all the channels you watch, a set of custom emotes in EVERY channel AND you get to support the channels you watch!
And of course for Twitch the TURBO sales would soar!
IF you like these ideas, please tweet them out and post them where Twitch Employees will see them, Thanks. -

I agree 100% - as an affiliated streamer, I'd subscribe to Twitch Turbo in a heartbeat if it would guarantee me transcodes. This constant "oh maybe I'll be lucky and get transcode options today" game isn't fun at all, neither is restarting the stream until you get lucky.
Mixer used to have this business model: let streamers pay and they get transcodes and other boosts. I'd pay for this option immediately, and even un-affiliated streamers could reap benefits from this.
Personally I think Twitch should give transcodes to EVERYBODY all the time, regardless of popularity like YouTube do it.
