Allow diacritics in display name
Diacritics (accent marks over/under/around letters; e.g. ú, ÿ, ç, å, ē) are important in spelling rules for many languages. There are a number of situations where a diacritic can be the difference between a common word and a horribly inappropriate one.
The display name field on Twitch should be extended to allow diacritics alongside capitalization changes to a username. This would add at least some level of support for a large number of additional languages with a relatively simple change.

Yes, this is a good idea. As stated, several languages have extended their alphabets and diacritics mark different pronunciation of letters and are important. Some languages even considers these to be separate letters, like Spanish Ñ is a separate letter from N, and Swedish Ä is a separate letter from A. Replacing Ñ with N or Ä with A would be considered just as much of a typo as replacing W with V in English.
Since English users usually aren't able to type diacritics, they can still replace Á with A and it will work. Basically, Á Ä Å Â Ã all count as A for when referencing a user.
In German, Ä, Ö, Ü should be replaced with AE, OE, UE, but an English speaker who sees the name "Göran" wouldn't know the username is actually "Goeran", so it's better to require that only O in the username can be replaced with Ö in the display name. Plus that not all languages replace Ö with OE anyway.
Here is the list of extended Latin characters to Latin Extended-A:
A = ÀàÁáÂâÃãÄäÅåĀāĂ㥹
C = ÇçĆćĈĉĊċČč
D = ÐðĎďĐđ
E = ÈèÉéÊêËëĒēĔĕĖėĘęĚě
G = ĜĝĞğĠġĢģ
H = ĤĥĦħ
I = ÌìÍíÎîÏïĨĩĪīĬĭĮį
J = Ĵĵ
K = Ķķ
L = ĹĺĻļĽľĿŀŁł
N = ÑñŃńŅņŇňŊŋ
O = ÒòÓóÔôÕõÖöØøŌōŎŏŐő
R = ŔŕŖŗŘř
S = ŚśŜŝŞşŠš
T = ŢţŤťŦŧ
T = ÙùÚúÛûÜüŨũŪūŬŭŮůŰűŲų
W = Ŵŵ
Y = ÝýŶŷŸÿ
Z = ŹźŻżŽžSome special characters:
Ææ - this is an AE-ligature, so it might be better to require to replace AE in the username with this. So display name "æon" would be username "aeon".
Œœ - same rule can apply to this letter, so OE required. So display name "cœur" would be username "coeur".
İı - Turkish doesn't consider Ii to be the same letter, instead they use Iı and İi instead. So while I and i are already allowed on Twitch, İ and ı has to be added too. -
