Obnoxious pre-roll ads
I ain’t watching a full minute or even 30 seconds of ads just to see what someone’s playing and if they have a good vibe for 5 seconds. It actively stops me watching streams and discovering new people, which I guess is the opposite of what you want people to do. Number doesn’t go up if viewers aren’t engaging.
Proposed solution: 30-second countdown after joining a channel before you smash us sideways with adverts. The counter could even be client-side to save your servers processing it.
Chances are I’d have found a lot more good streamers and maybe spent money but when I click on someone new and it shoves a minute of ads in my face, I nope out immediately.
