New Mobile UX is Unsuitable for Stream Viewing
Dear Twitch
Since you're testing the new UX, I figured I'd send some feedback.
I really, really, REALLY dislike the new UX.
Twitch isn't TikTok. When I open Twitch, I carefully consider who I will watch judging by the thumbnails and stream titles. I will then watch those streamers until their stream ends. I never, EVER, watch a random stream and I don't think I'll ever will. Streams aren't short-form content. The random stream that opens WITH audio is therefore very annoying, It also adds unnecessary load to the overall performance of the app. If you really want to leave it like this, at least make it so the random stream is muted by default and will unmute by double tapping or by tapping an unmute button.
Speaking of thumbnails and stream titles, why can't I see them anymore in the list? Why remove this? Now I have to go into each steam individually to see what they're doing. Only showing the game isn't enough. Example: Someone is playing "Minecraft"? Yeah, well, are they speed running? Survival solo? Multiplayer? PvP? Modding? Creative mode? Or did they forget to change the game title and they're now just browsing the web? Only seeing the game isn't enough.
Why the big plus button in the middle? Again, Twitch isn't TikTok. I don't think people are just gonna stream on a whim like they're recording a short video for TikTok. For the IRL content, I can sort of understand why you guys added this button. For games, however? "Play and stream from this device."? Now, there are interesting games to stream from a mobile device, I'm sure, but I think that's still a niche compared to all the games that are streamed on Twitch, so is all the real estate the button takes up justified here? I wholeheartedly believe this button will go unused by 99% of users.
Lastly, I want you to know that I loved Twitch BECAUSE it was one of the few apps that didn't just copy TikTok. I wasn't getting bombarded with content left and right with the same regurgitated layout copy pasted one million times. Please stay Twitch, don't become TikTok. We have enough of those.
With kind regards

exactly this! do they think we just mindlessly open the app and view random streams? hahah wtf
and yes only seeing the game isnt enough we need the titles back and timestamp. no one wants to go back and forth going in to each stream. it should be laid out in the list like original format. honestly they are braindead -

Twitch app didn't get any proper updates for what feels like a decade, then you do this and it's SO far from what's needed/wanted by anyone who uses the app. I've not seen a company so far out of touch with their user base as Twitch has become.
