Low latency player should be available to everyone in the iOS Twitch app
A few months ago, I was suddenly able to start using low latency mode in the Twitch iOS app on my iPhone 8. It was awesome, and it made Twitch much more enjoyable to me because there was far less lag.
A few days ago, I deleted and reinstalled the app. For some reason, the low latency option was now missing. When I contacted Twitch support, it seems that low latency mode on iOS is currently an experimental feature, and it is randomly offered to a small percentage of people and can be taken away.
Because I am unable to view Twitch on desktop, finally being able to use low latency mode was very important to me and helped me feel more connected with my friends because I wasn’t lagging so far behind in streams. Without this option, it makes it much more difficult to communicate with streamers because my messages are so delayed. Everyone else in the chat who has access to low latency mode can see the stream sooner and can react more quickly.
Since this feature already exists and works very well, it should be available to everyone who uses the Twitch iOS app.
Hey everyone, excited to let you all know that low latency mode is now the default for all iOS users!
For now, you will need to disable low latency mode if you want to airplay to other devices. If you aren't seeing this change, please update the Twitch app in the app store.
Thank you so much for all the feedback and have a great day!

Twitch streams on iOS (iPhone and iPad) appear to have 10+ seconds of delay that really hurt the interactivity. It defeats some of the purpose of watching folks live and talking on chat.

딜레이가 너무 심해집니다 그기능이 얼마전까지는 있었는데 지금은 사라졌거나 일부 사용자만 사용가능 하다 하는데 지금 당장 쓸수는 없는지 궁금합니다 -

The delay is extremely frustrating. Especially when watching streamers who have a lot of viewer interaction abilities like channel points and other things they can redeem for in game play. Being delayed damn near 30 seconds makes it nearly impossible to even enjoy the steam. Please for the love of everything holy, fix this.

the fact, a freaking stick for 40 bucks can run with a 3s latency (if low latency is enabled), but a phone for 800+ , that is more powerful than a midclass PC from 1-2 years ago has a 10-15s delay on average is a bad joke! - and the worse joke is, if you use audio only, the delay is like on a desktop (e.g. for music streams)

Been like this for years and is such an inconvenience. It was done on Android and I want it on iOS.

on IOS there is a delay of about 10/ 15 seconds that makes difficult the interaction between streamer and spectator. In the desktop and Android version of twitch there isn't the delay..

I understand it’s difficult to reduce delay, but PLEASE sync the chat with the stream. It’s making the live viewing experience unwatchable with the chat like 15 seconds ahead. I think this is such an easy fix and i am excited for you guys to make this a reality. Thank you very much.

Confirmed: delay on iOS and iPadOS is pretty higher than on safari or any other browser.
