Regular Purple Popups Ruin Experience The purple popups that occur when watching an embeded stream really only serve to worsen the experience of using an Embed. Attempts to engage with third party content are ruined but these purple screens cutting off the action every 15 minutes and the "Best experience" that twitch claims you can get from using the website directly is an experience devoid of the actual functionality provided by some third party applications that are at time the whole reason for seeing the stream in the first place.

Trigger channel.cheer also on extension bits As a developer creating statistics tools, chat bots, overlays and loyality tools, i also would like to add bits spent to those tools, which were obtained through extensions, for example Sound Alerts or Stream Stickers.
I would suggest adding a new field "isextensionbits" being true or false in the notification body (or, as an alternative, have a seperate notification type to not confuse existing apps, like channel.cheer.extension)

Create/Update/Remove a running goal Would be useful to create/update/remove a running goal.
To update/change the target whilst one is running if we get a surprise spike in subs
Or to easily be able to auto start a new goal if the first goal is completed.9 votes -
Provide Title and Game information with stream.online Other than knowing someone is online, there is still a need to utilize the API for getting related information about a stream.
It would be nice to have an all-in-one "here's everything about this stream going live" instead of requiring additional calls (especially if there's a possibility of caching delays).
Something along the lines of the data provided for channel.update would be nice

Add sortby and direction query parameters to Get Users Follows Kraken equivalent[1] of Get Users Follows offers a way to sort query results by either creation date, last broadcast or login name. There's also a way to sort results in either ascending or descending order. Helix however doesn't offer any ways of sorting results of your query and results are always shown descending without giving you the option to get those in ascending order.
In case you need to fetch exactly the first follow or get followers that have been live last, it becomes problematic if your query has lots of results - you'd need to paginate through all of…9 votes -
Add subscription date to subscription APIs Both of the APIs for getting subscriptions for a broadcaster don't include the actual date of the subscription with the data:
https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-broadcaster-subscriptions
https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#check-user-subscriptionThis makes it impossible to compute things such as subscription length dynamically as the only way to get subscriptions dates now is to be listening for the subscription event itself when it occurs. The V5 version of these APIs have this data point in them:
https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/v5/reference/channels#get-channel-subscribers

Extend user.authorization.grant to include scope information https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/eventsub/eventsub-subscription-types/#userauthorizationgrant
Please extend user auth grant to include
- all scopes shared between ClientID and userID
- new scopes added to the relationshio when the auth occured
Possible use cases include: auto determine from this eventsub, what other eventsub topics to auto create.

Allow self-signed certificates for development Currently, trying to access a development server with a self-signed certificate gives a "x509: certificate signed by unknown authority" error.
Being able to use development servers that are not on localhost (e.g. example.lan), would be really helpful when it comes to testing EventSub events.
Thanks.

Don't prefix iCal Timezones with / for better compatibility The TZIDs in https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference/#get-channel-icalendar are currently prefixed by a / so they are /America/New_York for example. Removing the leading slash should vastly improve compatibility with iCal parsers (since the timezones are essentially IANA timezones then).

viewer count from eventsub Either as a topic fired on update or added to "channel.update".
Advantages to its own event will reduce polling during a live stream and allow twitch to schedule when it sends out events as it needs to keep things in balance instead of having to contact 3rd party developers.

Extend Check AutoMod status to allow the developer to specify the level The API https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#check-automod-status
Only lets you check automod for the channel.
But it'll only do it to the value that the channel is set to
Please allow the developer to test a given phrase at a different automod level to that that the channel is set to.
Say the channel is set to level 1, I may want to test a paticular phrase or message about to be sent to an overlay or other property at level 3 or 4 instead for additional security/moderation beyond the level that chat is set to

Manage/update the offline screen for a channel It would be useful to be able to automate uploading a new channel offline screen.
(And banner too)
We may do game themed offline screens and want to automate doing that.
And/or manage it on behalf of the streamer, since the only way to currently update offline screens is if you are the broadcaster.9 votes -
Raids [beta] sends all raids even raids that don't appear in chat The raids beta topic, sends raids that don't appear in chat via the IRC raid USERNOTICE
Please either
- extend the payload to mark if a raid appears in chat or not
or
- provide a condition to ignore/include/only be "non chat raids"
or
- all of the above
Please do not remove non chat raids, as developers/streamers would like flexibility on what to actually notify for/collect data on.
Regardless of any limitations Twitch puts in place on what appears in chat.
Would also like to collect it for statistical purposes/reporting on small/large raids for a given stream.
There may also be an…

Add a transport filter to the status endpoint It would be nice if you could filter the response of the subscription status endpoint with a transport filter (e.g. "?transport=websocket").
Its not a big deal at the moment because there only is one transport (webhooks) available but with more transports added down the line this would be a huge QoL improvement.

Add streamline chat embed option Add a streamline embed option for chat. Be able to remove the header, leaderboard, and footer options to be more inline with the mobile website style.
This comes from an example from the forum, but this would be very helpful on mobile websites, and responsive websites. Having only 1 or 2 lines of chat on screen is counter productive, and a terrible user experience.

'Get User Follows' endpoint response data should include 'logo' & 'notifications' The new API endpoint 'Get User Follows'
https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/v5/reference/users#get-user-followsCould include more data than what is currently provided.
The legacy endpoint alternative offers a lot more but not all of this info is required by default.
https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-users-followsMy suggestion would be to at least provide the 'notifications' as well as the 'logo' info. To keep the requests at an optimal size by default, extra request parameters can be given such as:
?showLogo=true&showNotifications=true
(which can default to false when not present)or
?verbose=true
(which will provide an equivalent response to the legacy variant)The new endpoint should also only show this extra…

Include username in onAuth callback when a user has granted ID access. Some third-party developers request id access on their Extensions just for the purpose of getting a viewer's username to build a more personalized experience. The only way to do so is by relying on the Helix user endpoint on their EBS. The Helix team already modified any payload that has a user id to also deliver a username and save developers the extra step of using the /users endpoint, so it's natural for Extensions to follow that path.

Add functionality to query broadcaster id and user id for the Bits transaction API It would be convenient to have the ability to query Bits transactions based on broadcaster id and user id. This is extremely helpful for Extensions with lots of transactions and saves on calls to the API that would be necessary for paginating until the desired transaction is found.

Allow Poll and Prediction APIs (Get, Create, End) to accept App Access Token On 2026‑02‑27 several endpoints got app access token support in open beta. All of the Poll and Prediction management endpoints would be great candidates to also receive this support.
