EventSub Subscription Type: Advertisement Started I think an EventSub subscription type that would be really useful is one that alerts when an advertisement begins from the user's scheduled Ad Manager. This would allow bots the ability to post a message to users about the ad and remind them about subscribing and such when the ad begins.

Add subscriber only status to Streams API endpoint. Right now there is no official way (there is an undocumented endpoint) to determine whether a stream is sub only or not. Subscriber only status prohibits a lot of people from interacting with the stream, so it'd make sense for applications to be aware of such a state.

Stories: Upload API Please provide an API to upload Stories so that the channel editor using an external tool can complete creating a story and upload it using a suitable tool, as apposed to the Twitch Dashboard.
This could be an after effects/premiere plugin for example that auto uploads after rendering

Upcoming & Active Drops via API for Devs Why is there not currently an api that allows for regular developers to access the current upcoming/active drops?
There are a couple of usecases for this (off the top of my head), for example;
- displaying all active drops for specific games on a website like a fandom.
- announcing upcoming drops via a discord bot.Currently some games are creating drop campaigns with no official notices or schedules and with a short turn around. Drops go live within 2-3 hours of creation and last 2-3hours, if you're not sitting refreshing the drops page every hour you're likely to miss…

Extend Clips API to provide the MP4 url for overlay automation Extend Clips API to provide the MP4 url so clips can be played in in broadcast overlays of raiding streamers and friends of a channel.
With Content Classification Labels so that they can be filtered out and not allowing unwanted continent from another streamer to be broadcast
The current <Iframe> Is unsuited for this as most broadcast software can not use an <Iframe> as a media source and the browser sources are laggy and unreliable at bn
When I make a request for a Clip as documented: https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-clips
The JSON Response should include the direct link to the MP4 or…

Offer a way to better handle app authorization on password reset One of the annoyances of the current authorization system is that whenever the broadcaster change their password, they need to reauthorize all apps as well, so developers need to have a way of warning the user to reauthorize it, or they will lose access to its features.
I understand this is a security feature, but it would be good if that could be handled separately, because a lot of times people just want to change password, and not revoke auth for third party apps

TOP SUB GIFTERS (Leaderboard API) Similar to the Bits Leaderboard, please add a gifted subs leaderboard API, so we can see everyone who has gifted a sub in the channel.
So People can show in their overlay who is the top sub gifter (or the top sub gifters). This will make people see that when gifting subs they will show up in the stream and that streamers appreciate them.
Consequently there will be more people subscribe logically to be appreciated and that would make them and others gift more subs to the streamers.(I saw there was a request / an idea for that too…

Lead Moderator identify Third party developer tooling might need/want to indentify a lead moderator to provide additional controls.
Please provide a boolean on Get Moderators that ID's a user as a lead mod. (In a similar fashion to say, featured clips boolean on get clips)

Indicate on GetUser endpoint if he/she allows raids A streamer can configure if he/she allows to send a raid to his/her channel or not. But this information can't get using twitch api endpoint. The only way is trying to send a raid, and check if any error is returned or not.
Add this information directly in twitch API can helpful to select a streamer to send a raid.

Allow Channel Editors to use Helix Raids API With the new Raids API, it should mirror IRC where channel editors can trigger raid/unraid. Currently, this is not supported (need broadcaster user access token). Until this functionality is added, I will not be migrating to Helix Raids

Lookup User by Display Name Add a "/users"-like API method that supports display names. This will let bot commands which have a username parameter support Asian-family character display names to be passed the same as Roman-alphabet channel names. It will also let systems verify that a provided name (channel or display) exists on Twitch, and merge any information for a user's display name with the information for that user's channel name, to prevent "duplicate" sets of data: one for the display name; one for the channel name.

Disable clip creation Right now if we want to disable/enable clip creation we kinda have to play hide and seek in the dashboard.
It's good to have that possibility, but it doesn't answer emergency cases. It happens to streamers that they leak more or less critical personnal info (address, credit card, real name...). In such case, most of the viewers will create a clip to watch it back and by the time we find the option on the dashboard it's way too lat to disable clips creation.
Also it wouldn't totally solve it, having an API would help mitigate such kind of leak…

Extend the "ban user" endpoint to accept "login" as an alternative to the already existing "user_id" Today when you're using chat you can just enter
/ban userand the user will be banned, and the same is true for the IRC command, you can ban just by their username. It would be good if the ban endpoint would follow the same pattern. The use case for that is that I have a tool to mass-ban multiple users on multiple channels at the same time (I mod quite a lot of channels, so this streamlines this process), and I decided to migrate from the IRC API to the helix API, but because of it just accepting the…

Followed categories API It's possible for a third-party app to query a user's followed channels, but not followed categories. This is a very useful tool for creating alternate views to a follow list
Use-case: Raid recommendation tool - it compares channel stats to your own and recommends those that are most similar, and also those you haven't recently raided. To do this, it needs to start with a list of everyone you follow who's live, and then does further research.

Provide a `gift_event_id` in the channel.subscribe topic Scenario:
A viewer comes in and gifts 10 subs to the community; This fires off in theory 11 events. One event is thechannel.subscribe.gift, while the other 10 are the individualchannel.subscribefor the 10 users.Request:
Thechannel.subscribe.gifthas an id associated with its emission. Something that would benefit reactionary data would be each of the individualchannel.subscribeevents having agift_event_id. If the sub was a gift, set the id to thechannel.subscribe.giftevent id.Use Cases:
- A developer could choose to listen to the batched gift amount and react to that single event, then…21 votesWe are looking into this. Thanks for the request!

Extension update notification If an extension is updated, there generally isn't a good way to tell streamers about it.
It would be useful if an extension can push a notification to the bell/notification list, like how drops work/notify.
And/or find a way to present an update notification to the main Twitch dashboard.

Fix your "getting started" guide. This is a horrible getting started page. The authentication manager example does not actually do any connecting. There's nothing to initially trigger the login. Per the comment in the "logged out" status, adding a call to GetAuthInformation() then changes the status to "Loading" which isn't even mentioned. Nothing happens from there. Making a call to GetAuthenticationInfo() gives a MaybeResult that's null. Nothing further can happen. There's also an undeclared variable "RequiredScopes" there. This whole guide is an epic fail.

Make rate limit headers available to CORS / client-side requests Currently the rate limit headers "ratelimit-reset", "ratelimit-remaining" and "ratelimit-limit" are not accessible on browser / cors requests due to browser restrictions.
I request that Twitch adds the "Access-Control-Expose-Headers" header on the helix endpoints so that tools running in a browser can follow the rate limits without guessing if they are still within the limits or having to watch for 429 HTTP codes.20 votes
