  1. This is great documentation. I'm asking if there will ever be a pubsub topic for sharing real-time viewercounts? I've noticed the get channel endpoint only updates every 15 minutes.

  2. The Get Clips API should include information of all deleted clips matching the current clips request too when used with a proposed deleted=true parameter. Limited to only the broadcaster themselves and maybe behind some appropriate scope too.

    Goal: detecting malicious, weird and creepy clipping behavior from people making clips, downloading them, and instantly deleting them which is a very common pattern that's currently almost impossible to detect for streamers.

    Sometimes streamers will accidentally show something they didn't mean to for a second, or say something that can be taken out of context, and some people are just weird and clip…

  3. We third party dev's often build tools that assist with moderation actions/services for broadcasters.

    We tell Moderators to enable 2FA, but we have no way to check it.

    It would be useful to block Logins to our tool if 2FA is not enabled. But 2FA data is not surfaced in the API and there's no way to require a User to be 2FA during the login/oAuth loop.

    I'd like to see the users endpoint(s) provide 2FA status.
    I expect this to be behind the user read or openID scopes.

    openID allows email verified. Why not 2fa status (for example)

    Worth…

  4. Currently you can subscribe to a webhook to receive a handful of types of events. The only way to see when a stream goes live is to subscribe to a topic for that particular user. It would be incredibly useful to specify a category and receive a webhook whenever a stream goes live in that category.

  5. for /helix/streams can we add:
    profileimageurl from /helix/users
    and the game name (and potentially boxarturl) from /helix/games

    This is very basic info related to the stream and would be really nice to have available in a single call rather than 3 separate calls. This is especially important with bots that are trying to get the status of many streams in a short period quickly racking up api calls

  8. At the moment I have not found any way to get users app id (in my case Riot Account ID) which would allow me to authenticate user using Twitch API and at the same time make sure that user owns this Riot Account. Currently Riot does not support their own way of authentication for third-party developers, therefore Twitch would be great in this case if they shared app ids connected to the Twitch accounts.

  9. If you have a not very tall browser.
    And you request, a fair chunk of the oAuth scopes.

    When you redirect the user to Twitch.

    The Accept/Deny link page auto jumps down to the bottom of the page.

    This means the first few/most "dangerous" scopes as well as the application name/logo and whom you are logged in as are above the fold of the page.

    Basically "suggesting" to the user not to read all the scopes and just go accept/deny.

    The auto jump to bottom of the page should be removed.

  10. Right now there is no official way (there is an undocumented endpoint) to determine whether a stream is sub only or not. Subscriber only status prohibits a lot of people from interacting with the stream, so it'd make sense for applications to be aware of such a state.

  11. It has become difficult to obtain whats on the frontpage by region.

    Please provide an API to collect/obtain this data, it's useful for moderation to understand if/why we get a influx of viewers/chatters and can allocate additional bot rules/filters and/or moderation staff

  13. When no OAuth token is present there's this err:

    {
    "error": "Unauthorized",
    "status": 401,
    "message": "OAuth token is missing"
    }

    But a missing client-id doesn't return an error that it is missing, instead it responds with:
    {
    "error": "Unauthorized",
    "status": 401,
    "message": "Client ID and OAuth token do not match"
    }
    (which is the same error if both are sent, but don't match).

  15. Now it is not possible to get the number of streams in a certain section without sending a large number of requests to the API.

  16. If you call GET https://api.twitch.tv/extensions/<client ID> you get a JSON back with the information about the extension. This is currently undocumented, but it would be a real useful took for discoverability and management, but being undocumented, it wouldn't be wise to use in a production environment. If this endpoint is planned to be kept, can it be added to the documentation for our use?

  19. On the new Helix endpoint, https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference/#get-extension-transactions and therefor https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/webhooks-reference/#topic-extension-transaction-created the signed receipt that comes with onTransactionComplete from the JS Helper is missing. In order to audit and avoid man in the middle attacks, a signed JWT that can only be verified with the client secret should be sent on all endpoints sending monetary transaction data.
