  1. The Create Poll endpoint has optional query parameters to allow additional votes using either bits or channel points.

However, it doesn't actually allow multiple votes. This can be seen in the pubsub response which explictly states that "multi_choice" (property indicating whether additional votes are allowed) is not enabled.

When creating a poll through the web interface, it works just fine as it is created through the GQL and not the API. The GQL message also has an additional property to explicitly allow additional votes, on top of the properties that are used to either allow additional votes by bits and/or…

  2. Both of the APIs for getting subscriptions for a broadcaster don't include the actual date of the subscription with the data:

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-broadcaster-subscriptions
    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#check-user-subscription

This makes it impossible to compute things such as subscription length dynamically as the only way to get subscriptions dates now is to be listening for the subscription event itself when it occurs. The V5 version of these APIs have this data point in them:

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/v5/reference/channels#get-channel-subscribers
    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/v5/reference/channels#check-channel-subscription-by-user

  3. Rather than having to get all clips from a created time frame window.

It would be nicer to be able to get all clips from a given video ID. Both from a performance perspective and ease of use perspective.

It's then easier for editors to collate clips from a given stream for highlight compilation creation

  4. It would be useful if the following values could be added to each emote:

    • Channel Name (e.g. "owner name") - Obviously the name can be retrieved from the "owner id" by doing another API request, but it would be nicer to require fewer API requests
    • Tier - The "Get Channel Emotes" endpoint already contains a "tier" value, it would be nice if this one would also have it

Additionally, not all emote sets appear to be supported by the endpoint. For example the following emote sets (from the "emote-sets" tag and also valid emote sets in the v5 "Get User…

  5. The v5 GetUserEmotes does not include bit emotes, follower emotes or animated emotes. This should be updated. Or a new endpoint should be added to Helix to get this information.

  6. Could you add an endpoint equivalent for the Get User Emotes endpoint? my application uses the old one to show all the emotes a user can use but its not getting updated to support the new kinds of emotes being added to twitch.

  7. The TZIDs in https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference/#get-channel-icalendar are currently prefixed by a / so they are /America/New_York for example. Removing the leading slash should vastly improve compatibility with iCal parsers (since the timezones are essentially IANA timezones then).

  8. In a similar fashion as

    https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/39228784-extend-clips-api-to-provide-the-mp4-url-so-editors

The Videos API should be extended to provide the (original) VOD to authenticated users where that user is an Editor or better of the channel.

    As in unmuted.

For the purpose of backing up/taking a copy of the Twitch stream and/or taking that content (that the streamer owns) for use on other platforms.

Editors can already do this via the Video Dashboard, so the API should support this also

  9. Kraken equivalent[1] of Get Users Follows offers a way to sort query results by either creation date, last broadcast or login name. There's also a way to sort results in either ascending or descending order. Helix however doesn't offer any ways of sorting results of your query and results are always shown descending without giving you the option to get those in ascending order.
In case you need to fetch exactly the first follow or get followers that have been live last, it becomes problematic if your query has lots of results - you'd need to paginate through all of…

  10. In the new badge-related endpoints, badge objects in returned sets contain only their IDs and URLs, which compared to the only existing alternative (undocumented badges.twitch.tv endpoint announced in twitchdev forums[1]) isn't enough for things like custom chat clients that are very popular among many Twitch users.
Ever since that undocumented endpoint came to existence, we've been using it in our chat client and would at least need "description" and "title" properties that are present in badges.twitch.tv to display information about badges properly and replicate webchat's behavior. I believe both APIs use the same internal data (at least for Global Badges)…

  14. I'd like to see an API endpoint that gives me information about the level of support for a given channel/streamer and user/viewer combination.

On one hand, I as a viewer want to have a way of getting my total numbers raised in support of a given streamer (that is, user BhaaLseN on $channel).

On the other hand, I as a streamer want to have a way of getting total numbers raised by a particular viewer of mine (that is, user $viewer on BhaaLseN).

The former is meant for viewers and addons like FFZ/BTTV that display numbers: amount of subs gifted…

  15. It would be useful to be able to automate uploading a new channel offline screen.

    (And banner too)

We may do game themed offline screens and want to automate doing that.
And/or manage it on behalf of the streamer, since the only way to currently update offline screens is if you are the broadcaster.

  16. It shouldn't be required for manage roles such as mod/vip via the chat

It shouldn't be required to manage editor/mod/vip via the roles manager

it would be useful for automation/third party management to be able to manage roles via the API

  17. There needs to be an API that allows for the return of channal analytics.
This would have the reqiured query parameters of: broadcaster_id

Only stating the broadcaster_id could return the following results:
    - Average viewers
    - Total views
    - Average new followers per stream
    - Total followers
    - Average subscribers per stream
    - Total subscribers
    - Average minutes watched per stream
    - Total minutes watched

    It could also return:
    - Best performing catagories
    - Best performing tags

There would idealy also be some optional query parameters: start-date, end-date, time.

Adding the optional query parameters would also add the result:
    -…

  18. Please provide an endpoint to

    • create
    • update
    • delete
    • fetch

    The /rules of a channel.

    Usecase:

Moderators/channel staff/lead moderator may need to revise the rules of a channel on the fly.
This currently would require the broadcaster to "stop streaming"/playing the game/entertaining in order to do so.

A scope and endpoint should be provided to allowed authorised parties to update the rules.

  19. Please extend

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#check-automod-status

To provide as much information as the new PubSub Topic for automod-queue.<moderator_id>.<channel_id> does

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/pubsub#topics

Currently the API jsut does pass/fail
    But PubSub provides content/text/frames/reasoning.

This endpoint may be used by third party tools such as tip alerts or extensions to determine if a message passes review or not.

And if it is to be held and presented in a dashboard for moderation staff to review would be useful to include the additional information/reasoning for the block.
