Designated category for Creative Writing and related content
Ranging from writing and discussing novels, to poetry, scripts, comics, article editing, tabletop campaign planning, world creation, etc. There are a wide array of people doing various forms of creative writing on twitch, (Counted 53 channels so far, still working on finding more) and often it's hard to decide between "Creative" "Art" or "Just Chatting". Currently all we have to search for similar content is the "Writing" tag, which some of the broader definitions are hesitant to use, and is also used by people writing computer code, which is honestly a very different type of content despite it's visual similarities.
A category for this would seriously help us to find content and be found by the wider community of storytelling or wordsmithing fans that use twitch, as well as make it easier for twitches algorithm to identify what we watch. (I am often recommended visual art streams because I watch a lot of writers that use the art category, but never recommended any writing channels, and others I have spoken to experience the same)

Yes, I agree. It would help people who write find a niche and join as a community to take advantage of features like raiding and a nice fan base on Twitch.

I definitely agree because I wanted to stream writing but wasn't able to find the category. Thought maybe it wasn't a wanted category. I'm glad to see that's not the case.

I find it to be very hard to find writers and especially poets on Twitch. I think there should be a creative writing option for sure, that or creative writing tags that are searchable

Just getting into Twitch via NaNoWriMo this year. Very much enjoyed the experience. Hoping to do more of it!

As another Municipal Liaison with NaNoWriMo, we recently hosted an event on Twitch that introduced hundreds of writers across the globe to Twitch as a place to share and find community around creative writing, and a lot of them love it and want to come back for more. Because we were able to advertise the set of streamers to look for, we were averaging 20-30 viewers per stream and many of these viewers were brand new to Twitch. This is an untapped market that could be very active on Twitch if finding the content is made easy.

Please give us this! It would be so much easier to find likeminded writers :)

As an Municipal Liaison for NaNoWriMo, I'd love to see an official writing category for Twitch streams! Moving all our events online this year made Twitch an obvious choice for our write-ins, and I'd love to make it easier for my writing buddies to find us.

Please add a Creative Writing category. It's specific enough that people can find it and not merely have to guess via Just Chat or some other broad stroke.

I do feel it would be problematic to just stream Creative Writing of any sort to just "Art". While yes, writing is an art, it was much easier to be more broad with "Creative" streams when "Art" used to just be "Creative" - you could do writing streams, video editing steams, digital animation, traditional drawing, whatever. Now all these newfangled categories make it hard for all artforms to be consolidated. "Just Chatting" and "Art" just don't feel like the right hub for creative writing at all. If not a Creative Writing category -- maybe a Creative Writing *tag* would be a good compromise. I'd still prefer the category, though.
I dabble in a lot of creative writing projects, and it would be nice to have a category to let my thought processes for those projects (like an outline for several chapters of a novel, or for multiple acts of a play, or a screenplay or a potential video game's story - ok, the last one may be a stretch - but think of the fun). Without one, it just seems like another feature the platform lacks - and that's disappointing.

Yes, please! I run a writing and creativity craft/business show, and I never know what category it should reside in.

Truly, this needs to happen.
I'm a fantasy world developer writing an atlas for the setting. Sure, I can stream it under Pathfinder game for which it's being writing, but **I'm not actually playing the game** and therefore it's miscategorized.
Sure, writing is art but with so many writers in the Twitchverse, writing has earned its own place.

I'm new to Twitch and was saddened that there wasn't already a writing category. So another yes please vote here!

There is a vibrant international writing community that is actively seeking other twitch writers. Many of us have found each other through word of mouth, but Twitch needs to support all of its creative users by creating a writing category.

It seems a little disheartening that so many forms of creativity get their own category, but writers have to be buried beneath visual artists in the 'Art' category or completely buried in 'Just Chatting'.

I did my first Writing stream today and was pretty surprised to not see it already as a category, especially considering all the options for many other creative, non-video game pursuits!

I vote yes, too. I think my vote is going to be the one to put this over the top.

Yes, please, it is tough bouncing between three different channels hoping to find the right audience at the right time. A dedicated channel would be amazing!
