Introduce a “Push” Feature to Boost Stream Visibility
I propose a new feature called “Push” that allows Twitch users to temporarily increase the visibility of their favorite channels or live streams. Each user would have 3 Pushes per day to allocate. When a user pushes a channel, that channel would gain higher discoverability across Twitch—appearing more prominently in recommendations, search results, and on the homepage.
This feature would:
Empower viewers to actively support their favorite streamers.
Encourage community engagement by letting users highlight great content.
Give smaller or emerging channels a chance to get noticed without relying solely on algorithms.
Remain balanced by limiting users to a set number of daily pushes.
How it could work:
Users see a “Push” button next to a stream or channel.
Clicking the button consumes one of their 3 daily Pushes.
The pushed channel receives a temporary visibility boost (e.g., for a few hours).
Users could track how many Pushes they have left for the day.
Potential Impact:
Increased engagement and community participation.
More fair exposure for smaller streamers.
Helps Twitch’s algorithm better surface content that real users want to see.
Optional Add-on:
Show a subtle “Pushed by viewers” badge on streams, indicating community support.
This feature would create a fun, interactive way to support streamers, while improving content discovery for viewers.
