ICE
Creators On Twitch should be Able to Opt-Out of ICE Recruitment Ads.
Many of our communities are comprised of people actively being harmed by ICE Policies and Actions Under Trump. There are already creators saying they'll leave Twitch, or use Ad-Blockers More which will harm the platform as a whole (both in revenue and viewership).
This principle should also apply to Military, or any Government Recruitment; saying this as a Military Veteran myself, with members of my community also being veterans.
I Feel We should be allowed to deny Advertisements for ICE, who are committing violent extra-judicial and unconstitutional actions against US Citizens and Legal Immigrants in America.
We should have the right to refuse government recruitment advertisements on our content, as an citizens with a right to free speech, and to protest actions taken by government bodies.

Hi @Reneta_Scian. We appreciate you raising this concern. Claims that ICE runs ads on Twitch are untrue, and no one has approached us to run ads. There are no plans for any advertising campaigns for ICE.

We’re leaving if we’re forced to run these ads. Twitch as a platform should stay out of politics unless they want to divide their user base in half. You’re already hemorrhaging right wing users to Kick, you’ll lose the left too if you force these ads upon streamers.

Advertisements by ICE or any other organization of government in origin or not promoting actions in violation of our constitution in any way, or violence against citizens, legal residents, or individuals of any status have no place on Twitch.

The USA is currently a Dictatorship under the Trump Administration, he violates the Constitution daily, but people obey him anyway, because his word is Law now. That does not make it okay for his minions in ICE to abduct people with no justification, cram them into inhumane Concentration Camps like the one in Florida (I'm not calling it that stupid name they want us to) and then deport them, in some cases not even to the country they were born in. Twitch can't possibly be so cyncial as to run ads from the modern Gestapo, right?

Never mind allowing creators to opt out of these ads (although I agree that creators should have more freedom to choose what ads their viewers see) these ads have no place on any civilized platform. ICE is committing atrocities across the US by unlawfully removing people from the streets and illegally deporting them with no due process. There are undoubtably creators and viewers on Twitch who have been personally affected by this, yet you want them to watch ads begging for people to sign up and harm them more? By showing these ads Twitch is now complicit in abetting and endorsing fascism, period. It's no different than a bar in Germany in 1933 allowing the Nazi party to hang a recruitment poster. I don't care what they're paying you, no amount of money is worth selling your soul like this. Do better.

Regardless of where in the world we are, this is not ok, ICE has become the new "secret police" of the US, while their focus is immigrants both legal and not right now, that doesn't mean something g in the future would push them elsewhere. Promoting recruitment ads promotes bigotry. If these arent removed large swaths of people will leave twitch causing it to crumble. I will gladly move to YouTube if they arent removed.

So many streamers strive to make their streams a place welcoming and a general good and safe place to EVERYONE. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised Twitch ok’d it but it is extremely disappointing and frankly disgusting that there are now ads for anything related to ICE on the platform. Creators need control of the ads that can be played on their stream, period.
