Creators On Twitch should be Able to Opt-Out of ICE Recruitment Ads.

Many of our communities are comprised of people actively being harmed by ICE Policies and Actions Under Trump. There are already creators saying they'll leave Twitch, or use Ad-Blockers More which will harm the platform as a whole (both in revenue and viewership).

This principle should also apply to Military, or any Government Recruitment; saying this as a Military Veteran myself, with members of my community also being veterans.

I Feel We should be allowed to deny Advertisements for ICE, who are committing violent extra-judicial and unconstitutional actions against US Citizens and Legal Immigrants in America.

We should have the right to refuse government recruitment advertisements on our content, as an citizens with a right to free speech, and to protest actions taken by government bodies.

Hi @Reneta_Scian. We appreciate you raising this concern. Claims that ICE runs ads on Twitch are untrue, and no one has approached us to run ads. There are no plans for any advertising campaigns for ICE.

    How can such adverts even be brought into a meeting room let alone be cleared for airing? This is baffling and evil.

    Imagine allowing the modern day gestapo, a signal of rising fascism, and the perpetrators of illegal kidnapping of legal US citizens, to signal boost their crimes on this platform. I know Twitch only cares about money but holy ****, y'all. Have some ******* morals for once in your lives.

    To make it abundantly clear. I DO NOT WANT ICE ADS ON MY STREAM. Do not give ICE an inch, do not normalize ICE, do not give them a platform. It's insane that this even needs to be said.

    That these ads are being played in the first place is absolute nonsense. This will actively harm the userbase for this platform, and therefore your own pockets as well. These should be stopped outright, but at very least give us creators the opportunity to say NO to this type of advertising.

    No channel should be forced to show advertisements they don't want on their channel. Especially if those ads promote an organization that is actively destroying communities and families, harassing United States citizens, and wrongfully detaining and deporting thousands every day. We should have the right to refuse this and other types of advertisements from being on our channels. This would help us, the viewers, the platform, AND advertisers.

    Horrible that this needs to exist, that we even need to tell Twitch WE DON'T WANT THIS. Twitch is meant to be a safe and inclusive space! For a platform that has anti-bullying, anti-harassment, and anti-racism policies, showing ICE recruitment ads is WILD.

    Why are ICE/military recruitment ads even being run on twitch? Let alone not being able to opt out of gambling ads, or ads for other things that a streamer might not engage with. A streamer being able to curate an ad experience is also HELPFUL to advertiser's. They know their audiences.

    This is beyond unexceptionable to have ICE ads on Twitch. The pain ICE has caused to the US is beyond measure, regardless if its for anyone illegal or legal citizens of the United States of America. It also seemingly hypocritical of Twitch's stance on "controversial" or "political" labeling that was rolled out. How is this any different? Why is this given any special treatment vs. people who had concern over LGTBQA+ content being sweaped away?

    ICE is ruining the lives of people and their families who dont deserve to be targeted by their hateful views for simply existing peacefully. I want nothing to do with ICE. Get the OUT of the entertainment industry.

    I do not support any government recruitment ads on my stream. What I *do* support is the human rights of immigrants who have entered any nation. It shouldn't be illegal to relocate anywhere.

    As someone who does this for pleasure and not for any significant portion of my income, I highly am considering turning off my monetization options to prevent ads. Do not let hate organizations and facists group take out ads on this platform, and let creators opt out of specific types of ads

    I've been a multi-subscription, long-term subscriber on Twitch since 2016. If Twitch starts showing ICE ads, I will immediately cancel all subscriptions. Even the one for my best friend, which has been for 52 consecutive months. I will simply donate to her directly instead.

    Twitch not giving us the option to choose what type of ads we want on our streams is already frustrating enough. Slapping people's viewers with ads for an organization that violates people's rights is a whole other level of evil.

    Taking money from an organization that wants to kill a portion of your userbase is pretty evil.

    If I see -- or even hear about -- such advertisements running on Twitch, I will read it as Twitch and Amazon aligning and fully endorsing the evil acts.

    Opt-out is not good enough. I will associate the brand with what it associates with: if it allows and promotes nazis, then I will see it as a nazi-aligned organization.
