Creators On Twitch should be Able to Opt-Out of ICE Recruitment Ads.

Many of our communities are comprised of people actively being harmed by ICE Policies and Actions Under Trump. There are already creators saying they'll leave Twitch, or use Ad-Blockers More which will harm the platform as a whole (both in revenue and viewership).

This principle should also apply to Military, or any Government Recruitment; saying this as a Military Veteran myself, with members of my community also being veterans.

I Feel We should be allowed to deny Advertisements for ICE, who are committing violent extra-judicial and unconstitutional actions against US Citizens and Legal Immigrants in America.

We should have the right to refuse government recruitment advertisements on our content, as an citizens with a right to free speech, and to protest actions taken by government bodies.

Hi @Reneta_Scian. We appreciate you raising this concern. Claims that ICE runs ads on Twitch are untrue, and no one has approached us to run ads. There are no plans for any advertising campaigns for ICE.

    As a user of Twitch since the service was Justin TV, and someone who has spent countless hours and dollars on the platform, supporting creators, and Twitch, I would hope my voice holds weight here; I do not want to see ICE ads on here. This is offensive, and wrong. I would rather stop showing up on Twitch altogether, after being active on here daily since 2011 then support fascism.

    The advantage of Twitch ads over, say, YouTube is that they tend to be normal, high-profile brands rather than goldbug nonsense, active scams, or other low-quality to dangerous messaging. This really shoots a hole in that. ICE puts its employees, and more importantly, every person in the US, in danger, with its normal daily activities. Pro-ICE advertising actively endangers hundreds of millions of people.

    I do NOT wish to see a hint of ICE on the platform I use to escape from the real world and I know countless other people feel similarly. The ICE recruitment ads are beyond immoral. People will leave if they are allowed to be played. I will leave if they are allowed to be played. So please. Make them stop. Allow streamers to opt out.

    Do not run ads for ICE. I do not want them. I will stop giving money to your company if you decide it's better to take money from the Gestapo.

    We can't even speak on politics on our channels without content warnings in place, so we certainly shouldn't have ad content like this that we can't opt out of.

    No ads from the government, especially an organization acting evil and unlawfully like ICE. We should be able to choose the ads we show and twitch has the opportunity to not allow this in the first place.

    Abolish and deny ICE

    That includes in the form of rejecting and not showing their ads, or at least right to refuse their ads on user and streamer side

    Regardless of your personal feelings on ICE(for the record, I am firmly against their actions, especially in recent times), a hot-button topic like this should be something Twitch creators can opt out of being wrapped up in. Forcing us to run ads like this is a sure-fire way to cut down on the people who use your site and move to competitors. And until either the ads stop or we can opt out, I'm not streaming on your site.

    ICE is blatantly being used as the unaccountable arm of the White House. It cannot be supported in any way.
