Creators On Twitch should be Able to Opt-Out of ICE Recruitment Ads.

Many of our communities are comprised of people actively being harmed by ICE Policies and Actions Under Trump. There are already creators saying they'll leave Twitch, or use Ad-Blockers More which will harm the platform as a whole (both in revenue and viewership).

This principle should also apply to Military, or any Government Recruitment; saying this as a Military Veteran myself, with members of my community also being veterans.

I Feel We should be allowed to deny Advertisements for ICE, who are committing violent extra-judicial and unconstitutional actions against US Citizens and Legal Immigrants in America.

We should have the right to refuse government recruitment advertisements on our content, as an citizens with a right to free speech, and to protest actions taken by government bodies.

Hi @Reneta_Scian. We appreciate you raising this concern. Claims that ICE runs ads on Twitch are untrue, and no one has approached us to run ads. There are no plans for any advertising campaigns for ICE.

    absolutely would be necessary to either have the option to opt-out or even better; outright banning Ictual (Fas)Cists (G)e(stapo) recruitment ads entirely

    ICE has done nothing but terrorize communities this year and their ads should not be on this platform. Please remove them and stop accepting their money.

    Having ICE ads would be completely unacceptable. ICE hurts indigenous groups, many of my friends are from said groups and I'm not willing to support them being harmed. Please do better Twitch.

    Not allowing streamers to choose what ads are displayed on their channels has been a massive pain for a long time, but this goes over the line.

    My stream is not a space that welcomes the violence perpetuated by ICE, nor will it ever be. I know numerous official game accounts and brands that stream via Twitch that also would disapprove of this choice.

    We are the people making Twitch its revenue, it would be wise to listen to us. I think we'll see a large push towards other platforms, should Twitch choose to implement ICE ads.

    To have ICE recruitment ads in rotation is a direct contradiction to what most of Twitch and its creators stand for. It's extremely disrespectful to our marginalized creators, especially when we have guilds representing them. This is unacceptable.

    It is absolutely unacceptable to be forcing this on our FUN, SILLY, CREATION platform. I will forgo revenue and continue to stream for ONLY fun if it means a 0% chance of this being shown to my community, or move platforms all together. Disgusting and inhumane. It won't impact me much Twitch, but it will surely en mass impact you. Strongly, STRONGLY consider listening to the voice of the people that make YOUR website flourish. My content, community, and friends will NOT be associated with ICE. on ANY level. Think this one through Twitch, for once.

    Twitch has already been coming down pretty ******* minorities lately, and this would be a fantastic way to drive more of us to youtube or picarto or whatever else.

    Twitch please don't start allowing ICE ads on the site:( None of your users get to choose what ads get shown to their viewers:( I'd be surprised if any on Twitch viewer or streamer would even support ICE:0 They're a federal terrorist that rounds up anyone they claim to illegal and do so masked and unidentified and don't seem to care to bother to follow the law:(

    Other platforms already have this as a feat. It doesn't make sense why Twitch hasn't caught up and implemented yet.

    It is a safety issue undoubtedly. Also from a business perspective if creators feel like having certain ads run on their channel is hurting their image; they're more likely to move off of the platform. Also certain brands may not choose to work with Twitch in general for working with certain orgs like ICE. RE: many companies refuse to advertise on Twitter/X anymore bc of how the platform chooses to run itself.

    If Twitch does not allow opt out of ICE Recruitment ads, revenue will plummet. We will take our leave and there will be a difference. If Twitch wants to spit in the face of the Latin Guild, which I'm a part of, then I have no problem continuing to run and promote ad-blockers, disabling Subscriptions and ads, or just leaving my affiliate agreement entirely. I can make money without the silly built in buttons on your website. Can you, Twitch?

    This is disgusting, ICE is a modern Gestapo imprisoning innocent people without charge just for their assumed race. Forcing creators to show ads for them puts Twitch on the wrong side of history, and you will pay dearly for it.

    I am very close to meeting the qualifications required to apply as a Twitch Affiliate.

    If that means promoting a fascist police force with no regard to human safety, I'd rather never send my application, and stream ad-free. If I can't stream ad-free, then I'll stream somewhere else. ICE doesn't deserve recognition for their atrocities.

    I'm a Twitch Partner and I have loved the platform and what it has done for me- but I have to draw a line. As an Indigenous Latina, I refuse to platform the modern-day gestapo. Call it what it is; that's what ICE is. I'll genuinely consider moving platforms if it means not supporting ICE.

    It would be extremely tone-deaf to have a Twitch Latin Guild (which I am part of!) and host ads from the fascist private police that are terrorizing Latinos (and other immigrants, especially immigrants of color) and snatching them up off the street.

    Make the right choice, Twitch.
