"Coworking and Study" Category
Last year, you all implemented a "coworking" tag for WFH, study, and remote working streams.
All of us in the coworking community really appreciated the tag! It helped users and viewers find streamers to study alongside, especially in a time when everyone was working from home. Even now, a year and a half out from the tag introduction, many users are still working from home, looking for coworking streams to pass the time and find company in.
Unfortunately, the addition of custom tags—while innovative and helpful for many streamers generally—has presented a problem for the coworking community. It's no longer easy for coworking streamers to use their designated tag to aid discoverability.
There are, after all, SO MANY iterations of "coworking" that could be used: "coworking," "co working," "study," "WFH," "costudy," "working," "studying," working...." and the list goes on.
This lack of clarity has effectively nullified the benefits that the designated "coworking" tag gave us back in early 2021, muddying the waters and hampering discoverability for coworking streamers.
ALL THAT SAID, now that custom tags have been introduced and the discoverability environment has changed for us, it would be incredible to get a designated "Coworking and Studying" category for coworking streamers to live in. Not only would it help viewers find us, it would also help us discover other new coworking streamers much easier—especially when not many know how to use the tag system efficiently.
Thanks so much for considering!

PLEASE give us the coworking/chores, odd jobs, and errands category! I know it was for April fools, but I could really use this for real!

Was so happy to discover the "coworking" category only a few weeks ago until it was taken down yesterday? It was amazing having that category on as it enabled myself and others who use that category to find one another. While I am predominantly a game streamer, it's nice to know that I was able to switch between actual game categories and then a learning category such as Coworking.
As I type this, I realise "Coworking" was an actual game on Steam. Either way, it would be nice to have a learning/to-do category like "Studying", "Coworking". It's just an easier way to find actual coworking streamers rather than struggling to find them on the "Just Chatting" category.

Please help get this added. There are a TON of streamers/creators out there that don't get the exposure they deserve. This needs to be added as soon as possible.

The coworking game category led me to find a whole new community, one that was welcoming and encouraging. I could find people who understood my needs with focus and breaks, and it was amazing. Twitch has been asking me to comment on coworking and study for months. THIS is my comment. BRING the COWORKING BACK. Now, please!

I think it's important to acknowledge that other streaming platforms are beginning to implement categories such as 'Learning' and 'Education' that offer a little more flexibility and are better for finding specific categories of stream. Twitch should follow suit and provide a 'co-working' category even if just in order to stay competitive and ahead of the game in comparison to other platforms

@CorporateAF the category wasn't official, it was this game: https://sean-smh.itch.io/coworking probably they removed because no one was streaming the actual game, still valid being upset on them for removing instead of making an official.

Why was coworking removed? Found some excellent streamers the last few days there and it literally disappeared before my eyes.

the coworking game category was just removed without warning, and having that small taste of what our community could be was incredible. While streaming in the category, i found other streamers more easily, my viewer count was up, and I had my longest streak of troll free streaming since I started showing my face on stream. nuking the category means that twitch knows we exist, they just refuse to even recognise this petition

A coworking category would be amazing for me to find streamers to watch and work with. The "Reading, Studying, and Coworking Collection" is an insufficient solution, as it doesn't allow searching within said "collection".

Coming back around. The Coworking game was taken off of IGDB, so we're back to square one. Twitch really needs to do something about (or at last acknowledge) this. This has become a devastating and disheartening struggle that will cost Twitch not only viewers but streamers as well. The entire community is so disjointed without this category, and small coworking streamers are almost impossible to discover and support without a straightforward category.
* Coworking streamers get drowned out in other Just Chatting streams
* Because there is no universal tag for coworking (Cowork, coworking, costudy, etc.), coworking streamers struggle even more to make themselves noticeable (esp if they don't use tags), and viewers don't know what to search for. -

Removing the “Coworking” game without giving any response on whether or not an official category will be implemented signals the end of asking nicely.

I only use Twitch for coworking streams, like so many others! A coworking and study category needs to exist! It's wild that it doesn't. Come on, Twitch!!

We desperately need a 'Coworking and Study' category so our community can easily find other study streamers without having to comb through 'Just Chatting', as well as attract the appropriate audience.

Literally only view on Twitch for coworking - and specifically with my favorite streamer.
When my favorite streamer isn't on, it's a pain ********** to find another coworking streamer as there is no category.
Twitch, you're loosing out on active viewers metrics by refusing to add this category. -

I've been adding more and more CoWorking to my content line-up and it's really valuable to me as a viewer, too. I'd love to see it have its own category!

So glad this is getting the attention it deserves because a dedicated Coworking/Study category is needed. Some study/cowork creators may not use tags, and using the game category isn’t the correct solution.
I’d suggest, since using the incorrect category is not within the Twitch rules (I think this still stands), download the actual Coworking game — I am not affiliated with the game in any way — and run it during your streams so the community doesn’t get dinged for miscategorizing content.
I am actually surprised Twitch hasn’t already created the category but hopefully with the new voices coming in and shining light on this topic, we’ll get a category soon. *Fingers crossed*
