"Coworking and Study" Category
Last year, you all implemented a "coworking" tag for WFH, study, and remote working streams.
All of us in the coworking community really appreciated the tag! It helped users and viewers find streamers to study alongside, especially in a time when everyone was working from home. Even now, a year and a half out from the tag introduction, many users are still working from home, looking for coworking streams to pass the time and find company in.
Unfortunately, the addition of custom tags—while innovative and helpful for many streamers generally—has presented a problem for the coworking community. It's no longer easy for coworking streamers to use their designated tag to aid discoverability.
There are, after all, SO MANY iterations of "coworking" that could be used: "coworking," "co working," "study," "WFH," "costudy," "working," "studying," working...." and the list goes on.
This lack of clarity has effectively nullified the benefits that the designated "coworking" tag gave us back in early 2021, muddying the waters and hampering discoverability for coworking streamers.
ALL THAT SAID, now that custom tags have been introduced and the discoverability environment has changed for us, it would be incredible to get a designated "Coworking and Studying" category for coworking streamers to live in. Not only would it help viewers find us, it would also help us discover other new coworking streamers much easier—especially when not many know how to use the tag system efficiently.
Thanks so much for considering!

This would be amazing because “Just Chatting” does not encapsulate Co-Working streams and some of us don’t be chatty during Co-Working streams anyways ~ Give us a co-working category please please please! ;—;

As a neurodivergent creator, co-working streams have provided sorely needed structure and consistency for me, as I don’t have a consistent support system outside of it.
Making this an official category would broaden Twitch’s horizons to add accessibility to many of its backbone community. The body doubling is insanely helpful, help make it legit!

@TrainerRio It's not an official category, it's a game created in IGDB: https://www.igdb.com/games/coworking/

Just echoing what others have said in support. Almost every co-working stream I’ve found has either been through raids, recommendations from similar streamers, or messy inconsistent tagging. It would be so helpful for discovery if this was a dedicated category. Just Chatting feels inaccurate because most co-working or study streams only chat during breaks between pomodoros (which I like) and the purpose behind these streams is very intentional. The community already exists on Twitch as evidenced by the upvotes and comments on this — it’s just tricky to find currently. Thanks for considering the co-working communities for inclusion!

This would be helpful for viewers and streamers alike! Especially when “Just Chatting” is such a wild card category.

I would love a Co-working category! I've started doing co-working streams and it felt so awkward being in Just Chatting when I am in actuality doing Pomodoros. Having a category would assist in helping with discoverability for a very niche category that has a growing demand.

How is this still an open item? Twitch - this is an easy item that obviously has a massive interest. Why is there such a delay in getting this created?

This is definitely needed as the coworking streamer community on twitch is growing! It would be great to not have the problematic just chatting viewers come into that chat constantly

Thank you so much for bringing up this idea. I have been struggling a lot as a feminine coworking streamer of color in the Just Chatting category. People are often confused about what I'm up to and there are times where it feels like I'm getting trolled all day from people who browse the Just Chatting category. I hope this category gets added because I really want to support our coworking community and find each other through a proper category! <3

I think this is an excellent idea. One of the main reasons I come to Twitch is for coworking/body doubling streams but if I want to find someone new that often means opening up a bunch of the different coworking tags in different windows to try and see everyone who's streaming. It would be so much easier to see everyone in one place.
